Ron Kenoly Reveals He Has Fante Roots

Renowned American praise and worship leader, Dr Ron Kenoly, who is in Ghana to headline Adom Praiz 2011, has revealed that he has Fante blood running through his veins. He made the disclosure on Adom FMs Drive programme, Ofie Kwanso Wednesday where he was the special guest. Ron Kweku Kenoly touched down in Ghana Wednesday afternoon and was whisked straight away to the studios of Adom FM, where the 66-year old singer showed energy belying his age. According to him, on his first visit to Ghana in 1997, he took the opportunity to learn about Ghana and his ancestry and his research indicated that his ancestors were part of some Ghanaians who were taken abroad from the Central Region, specifically Elmina as part of the Slave Trade in 1836 so we assume that we are Fantes. Ron Kenoly revealed that he adopted Kweku as his middle name because he was born on Wednesday and he had been told about the local names given to Ghanaians according to the days they are born. He expressed his excitement at being back in Ghana saying he is elated to perform again in the country. On what people should expect from him on Saturday, Ron Kenoly said, I am committed to the sayings of the Scriptures and my calling to help people experience the manifest presence of our heavenly father through praises and worship so people come and experience some intimacy with God. He disclosed that he does not minister at a concert without giving people the opportunity to accept Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour so that will be part of his goal when he ministers. The Praises and Worship leader added he is looking forward to seeing believers throng the International Conference Centre to participate in Adom Praiz so they can witness the show of a lifetime.
