Actress Jackie Appiah has revealed in an exclusive interview with Peacefmonline.com that the secret behind her continuous success is because she is passionate about everything she does as an actress. Asked what the secret of her glowing success is, Jackie said Well I will say first of all its God, dedication to my work, enjoying what I am doing, being passionate about every individual movie I do, being passionate about the movie industry and anything else that comes with it. After stamping her authority in Ghana as the Best Actress and proving to be the best actress in Africa, likeable Ghanaian Silver screen goddess Jackie Appiah is now making giant strides beyond the shores of Africa. The beautiful actress won the award for Best Pan African Actress 2011 at the just ended 6th Annual Nigeria Entertainment Awards in New York over the weekend. Jackie was nominated alongside Ghanaian actresses Ama K. Abebrese, Akofa Asiedu, Yvonne Okoro, Nadia Buari and Nigerian actress Yvonne Cherryl. Handsome Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh also made Ghana proud by winning the Best Pan African Actor award on the same night. The event which took place on Sunday September 4, 2011 at the Symphony Space 2537 Broadway, corner of 96th Street, New York City, brought together great African Movie, Music, Radio and Television stars from Africa and all over the world. Even though the Death After Birth actress was not present at the award ceremony, the organizers received the award on her behalf and she has confirmed winning the award. Jackie who is presently in Lagos shooting a movie confirmed this in an exclusive telephone interview with Peacefmonline.com while she was on set. According to Jackie, she received a message from the organizers that she has won an award and also said they were making arrangements to send the award to her in Ghana. I was so excited when I heard the news that I have won an award far away in New York. I was on my bed when the message came so I was screaming and jumping on my bed and I kept reading the message over and over again. Even though Jackie confirmed that she was invited by the organizers of the event, she was not present at awards night because she had already committed herself to other engagements before the invitation came in. She had to be present in Ghana on Friday September 2, 2011 to attend the premiere of her new movie Death After Birth at the Silverbird cinemas and left for Lagos the following day. According to her, this award just like the others she had won means a lot to her career. Every award that I win is so dear to my heart because it is a certain committee that sits down to watch your movie and conclude that you are the best among all of them. So if professionals like that from different sections of the movie industry from different parts of the world are appreciating our works it makes me feel good that people around the world are enjoying what I am doing; so I am honored.
