NDC Can Slumber And Still Defeat Akufo-Addo In 2012 NDC Scribe

The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Yammin, says in spite of a successful National Delegates Congress, anyone who has the best interest of the ruling party at heart will not hesitate to openly admit that there is no unity in the party. He attributes the division in the party to events preceding the election of a flagbearer in Sunyani to contest the 2012 election. It is true that the NDC as it stands now is divided. There are certain people in the party who dislike the stance of some personalities in the party strongly. There is the FONKAR and the GAME group and any party executive can never deny it because of its relevance, he said. He however stressed that a united NDC with no blocs and personality cults could go into the 2012 elections in a state of slumber and still defeat the New Patriotic Party (NPP)s Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo. I have stated it before and I want to say it again that if we unite we can go to sleep and still beat Akufo-Addo in 2012, he said in an interview during PeaceFM News@6pm. Underscoring the importance of unity in the NDCs quest to retain power, Joseph Yammin stated that any NDC activist who harbors hatred and is involved in petty squabbling only seeks for the party to wallow in opposition and cited the example of one-time presidential aspirant of the opposition NPP, Alan Kyeremanten to buttress his point. The party (NDC) should consider and open its arms to whoever wants to come on board and help us win the 2012 election, he prayed.
