Pretty-faced Ama Annan, the 42- year-old daughter of former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, over the weekend got married to a 40-year-old Nigerian multi billionaire, Adepoju Adedeji, popularly known as Poju. The ceremony took place in Ghana and reports say attendance was strictly by invitation. The three-day marriage ceremony started on Thursday 29th September and ended on Saturday 1st October. NEWS-ONE gathered that Ama Annan has a Nigerian mother by name Titilola Alakija, Kofi Annan�s ex-wife. A section of the Nigerian media has reported that Poju bases mostly in France and that he already has three children from a previous marriage. He is the son of erudite intellectual, Professor Adebayo Adedeji, Executive Director of the African Center for Development & Strategic Studies (ACDESS). Prof. Adedeji and Kofi Annan both worked for the United Nations. Ama Annan, on the other hand, is a certified financial analyst and a New York investment banker. She graduated from the London School of Economics and New York Institute of Finance. Ama Annan is currently the Managing Director of the Lagos-State based Mid Ocean Shipping Company. It is however not clear where and how Ama and Poju met. While one school of thought suggests that the Nigerian blood in Ama may be a strong clue, especially when she partly grew up in the country, another opines that Ama and Poju may have met in New York when both Kofi Annan and Poju�s father used to work for the United Nations.
