Nigeria's Super Eagles Lose N50m

Nigeria Super Eagles have failed to make themselves N50m richer after failing to book a ticket for next years Nations Cup. The Super Eagles drew 2-2 against Guinea before home crowd last Saturday, denying them the opportunity to participate in the forthcoming African Cup of Nations slated for Equatorial Guinea/Gabon next year. Should they have won by a wide margin, which would have secured them a place in the biennial soccer fiesta, beverage drink producers Pepsi Cola had promised the Nigerians a mouth watering N50m cash package. The team also missed N100m package promised them by the same company should they win the Equatorial Guinea/ Gabon tourney scheduled for next January. Nigeria, like other African soccer super powers, have fallen by the way side, giving the chance to countries like Niger, Libya and others to prove their mettle. Meanwhile, the Super Eagles are playing their Ghanaian counterparts in an international friendly at the Vicarage Road Stadium today in London
