BCI Scores Another Feat In Fight Against Breast & Cervical Cancer

Breast Care International (BCI), a leading breast cancer awareness creation and treatment organization, has scored another feat in its campaign for the reduction and possible eradication of the disease in Ghana. The organization, founded by Dr (Mrs.) Beatrice Wiafe Addai, a Consultant Breast Surgeon, has for years been at the forefront of the campaign against the disease in the country. Its tremendous achievements in education, clinical screening and training of nurses to look for breast cancer patients and refer them for appropriate treatment has attracted International recognition including the USA based Susan G Komen for the Cure which collaborated with it in organizing the first ever Susan G Komen Race for the Cure in Ghana this year. The latest recognition is from the Pink Ribbon Red Ribbon, an innovative partnership designed to leverage public and private investments in global health to combat breast and cervical cancer. Engineered by the George W. Bush institute, the US President�s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS, Pink Ribbon Red Ribbon is well positioned to expand the availability of vital cervical cancer screening and treatment besides breast cancer education.
