Wanlov The Kubolor And His Afro-Gypsy Band For Amazon

Wanlov the Kubolor and his Afro-Gypsy band have been invited to perform at this year�s Trans-Amazonian Festival scheduled to come off in November in Brazil. The artiste, who is currently in London made this known in an interview adding they are expected to perform on November 10 and 12. He disclosed that, �I am going to South America to perform at the Trans-Amazonian Festival to support Julian Marley [son of reggae legend Bob Marley]. I will do two concerts and will also record with the real Bushinengu�, Prince Koloni.� The Bushinengu�, Wanlov explained are �stolen� Africans �who never got enslaved, but rather killed their captors and have been living traditionally in the bush since.� Other artistes expected to perform at Trans-Amazonian Festival include Chris Combette, Little Guerrier, Vox Sambou and Papa Zon. Apart from performing at the concert, Wanlov said he will hold recording sessions with Abdou, the famous drummer of Salif Keita and Peter Gabriel on November 11 and 13. Before his Brazil performance, he will be at Womex World Music Expo, a music networking event from October 26 to 30 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He said he is attending the expo with King Ayisoba to, �meet with several promoters there to book and more gigs across the world.� In another development, FOKN Bois (Wanlov and M3nsa)�s classic movie Cos ov Moni will receive a Special Achievement Award for being the world�s first pidgin musical movie at the 2011 edition of the Ghana UK-Based Achievement (GUBA) awards scheduled to come off Sunday November 6 at the Park Plaza, London.
