Muntari Backs Ghana To End Trophy Drought

Sulley Muntari insists the Black Stars have the wherewithal to end the trophy drought at next years Nations Cup finals. Ghana open their campaign against minnows Botswana before playing neighbours Mali and Guinea in Group D for the biannual showpiece. The Group could be tricky for the 2010 Fifa World Cup quarter-finalists considering the pedigrees of their opponents. The Inter Milan star man, who will is expected to feature prominently in Goran Stevanovics squad at the tournament, remains adamant about the countrys chances. With our pedigree on the continent, surely a lot will be expected of us in the tournament. I have said before that were determined to go a step further in 2012, Muntari said We respect our opponents in the group but the truth of the matter is that were also going to guard against complacency and tackle each game with total seriousness. We have a fantastic manager and a great team which is very compact and so well do our best. I believe were capable of writing our names in the history books. Ghana were losing finalists at the 2010 Africa Cup Nations in Angola.
