Ex-Sports Minister Wants Stevanovic To Pick His Own Nations Cup Squad

A former Minister of Sports Hon. O.B Amoah is asking Ghanaians to allow national coach Goran Stevanovic to make his own decisions on the Nations Cup squad. The Serb will unveil his 23-man squad for the tournament on Thursday but there have been plenitude of suggestions from the public during radio phone-ins into sports programmes. Some are demanding local-based players get places in the squad and some foreign-based stars overlooked. The Member of Parliament has called for a ceasefire wants the Stevanovic to be left alone to pick his players. Amoah told Asempa FM: There have been instances where coaches have made decisions against everybodys wishes and it has backfired and the vice versa have also happened in certain situations. The best the FA can do is to allow the Technical Directorate to advise the coach but at the end of the day the coachs decision should reign supreme.
