Black Stars Coach: 'I Will Resign If'

Black Stars' Serbian trainer Goran Stevanovic says he will lay down his tools after the 28 th Nations Cup if Ghana failed to impress in the competition. He stated that there would be no need to hold on to the job should Ghana bow out before the semi finals. At a press conference at the GFA secretariat last week, he mentioned that should the team go all the way to the final and lose the trophy on penalties after a spirited game then, he will continue to stay as the Stars' manager. 'The nature of our job is such that if you perform, you stay and if you fail you go. I will not resign if, say we lose after a great performance in the final on penalties,' he added. Plavi, on assuming duty as head coach of the Black Stars, gave the assurance that he has come to win trophies for Ghana and believes that his squad has what it takes to return to Ghana in February with the silverware.
