Asamoah Gyan Salutes His Friends

Black Stars forward Asamoah Gyan has congratulated former team mate Samuel Osei Kuffuor as the latter officially brings his soccer career to an end in a ceremonial game at Baba Yara Stadium this evening. A release signed by the Al-Ain striker said, �I congratulate you as you mark the end of your playing career in a testimonial match on December 23. �Coming from our historic appearance at the World Cup in Germany 2006, in which you played a major role to help us propel to where we are now as a team, we will always remember what you have done for Ghana football till date,� it added. �I am doing everything in my capacity with my Club to come and be part of this historic event, unfortunately am playing a game today making my flight arrangement very difficult. With these facts, I may not be able to come to Ghana for the match and if that happens please remember I am with you in spirit,� the release stated. Meanwhile, the striker has wished Dede Ayew well, stating, �I wish to use this medium to congratulate Dede Ayew on his nomination in the final shortlisted players and further throw my weight behind him in his quest for the continental Best Male Footballer of the Year 2011.�
