Government has paid one million euros to help secure television rights for the telecast of live matches of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
The state has invited co-operate bodies to make cash contributions to pay the other half of the 2 million euro fee being asked by right holders SportFive.
When secured, the rights will go to state broadcaster Ghana Television (GTV) who are expected to sublet the rights to other television broadcasting houses in Ghana.
There is now a desperate race against time to secure absolute rights with barely three days left to the start of the tournament in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea where Ghanas senior national team will be on display.
The Black Stars are drawn in Group D alongside Botswana, Guinea and Mali and will play all of its group games in the Gabonese city of Franceville.
