Anthony Baffoe Takes Charge Of 2012 Afcon Opening Game

Ex-Ghana international Anthony Baffoe has been appointed the general co-ordinator for the opening game of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. The 46-year-old will direct affairs throughout the opening ceremony and the game itself between co-host Equatorial Guinea and Libya in Bata on Saturday. The ex FC Koln defender has distinguished himself in the general co-ordination role in high profile Fifa and Caf tournaments and has been duly rewarded with taking charge of the opening of Africa�s biggest football showpiece. Baffoe who is also a member of Fifa and Caf Football Committees will also oversee all group games being played at the Bata venue. He recently discharged a similar role during the Fifa Club World Cup in Japan which received raving reviews.
