Hearts of Oak have signed midfielder Layear Kingston for an undisclosed fee, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.
The 31-year-old signs a one and a half year contract with the Phobians and is eligible to play when the second round of the Glo Premier League commences on February 17.
Hearts Chief Executive Fred Crentsil says Kingstons quality and professionalism amongst other things were the reasons behind the decision of the club to capture the former Lokomotiv Moscow and Hearts of Midlothian player.
He (Kingston) has been training with the team since his arrival from Europe and he has impressed during this period, Crentsil told GHANAsoccernet.com.
His professionalism and his inspirational role to the other players especially to the young ones is also something we looked at as a management.
He demonstrated during his time at training that he still has the strength and talent to play so we are happy he decided to re-join us.
Kingston excelled as a teenager when he first signed with Hearts from Great Olympics in 2001 and had always expressed his desire to return to his boy-hood club where he first made his name.
