President Mills Is Neck Deep In Woyomegate

As the Woyomegate unfolds before our eyes on daily basis it has become crystal clear as daylight that that Professor Mills and his cronies, i.e. Betty Mould, Alfred Woyome, Kwabena Duffour, and all the GAME members connived to steal this state money to fund President Mills re-election campaign and when the FONKAR allegations, led by Herbert Mensah over the 90 million tape" broke, he was hounded and arrested by Mills and his GAME team and thrown out of favour. The President has therefore known about the plan, the actions and the conspiracy to pay the money to Woyome as a conduit to pass it on to him and his campaign team to have him re-elected as a flagbearer of NDC. It is therefore not surprising that the now discredited NDC propaganda machinery has been kicked into a belated action to salvage the Presidents already tattered image. Unfortunately neither the President nor his team of avowed liars have been clever enough in this regard. It all started on Monday, 9th January when the President, faced with the barrage of questions from the team of editors and senior journalists in his own backyard, the Osu castle, buckled under pressure to admit that his government has been irresponsible in their stewardship of our public purse. Answering questions about why GHC58million was paid to Alfred Woyome, the President said he cannot be so irresponsible to direct his Finance Minister to pay such a whopping amount of money to one person while the masses suffer due to inadequate infrastructure and basic amenities. ...when I know the plight of our people, when I know our people are crying for water, the basic necessities of life, how can I be so criminally-minded, so irresponsible to say give 58 million to one person. By this admission, the Professor President confirmed, in his own estimation, that the payment of the money was irresponsible. Again he has confirmed that under his BETTER GHANA the masses suffer due to inadequate infrastructure and basic amenities. He has also confirmed that payment of such money was criminally minded. The President in an interview of Radio Gold then went on to lie to the state that when he came to know about Woyomegate for the first time he was in USA. This means he heard about it for the first time in December 2011. However his own EOCO Report has clearly confirmed that the President has known about this all along. In fact in a partisan bid to help the President, the EOCO report said that on two occasions he gave instruction to his ministers not to pay the money to Woyome, but they twice refused. These payments were made as far back as 2010 and, if EOCO is to be believed, without the consent and indeed against the directives of the President. This means he has known about this all along. A more realistic interpretation of the facts would depict the President as deeply involved in this conspiracy using the 2010-2011 timeline. The President's multiple inconsistent statements, the correspondence between the ministers and the Castle, the role of Castle Staffers (Segbefia, Akyena Brentuo, etc), the Martin Amidu resignation, and the failure or inability to fire Barton Oduro, Duffuor and others all support this theory. The plan by the NDC propaganda machine has been to agree on a kind of plea bargain on the part of President by admitting that Betty Mould, Woyome, Paul Asimenu, a Director at the Legal Department of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning and The Chief State Attorney, Samuel Nerquaye-Tetteh are guilty as charged. By sacrificing these people who were the field conspirators the NDC is hoping that the criminal path leading to the office of the President will be blocked. This new plea bargain ploy was not the original plan of the NDC when the news first broke. They were prepared to play the ostrich by being adamant that there was nothing wrong with the payments. According to Ebo Barton-Oduro, the Dep. Attorney General, the state had no case against Woyome. This was echoed by Alex Segbefia, the Deputy Chief of Staff. Then the propaganda team lent out Akyena Brentuo, one of their members, to Woyome to mastermind how he managed his (Woyomes) end of the conspiracy. He broke ranks with them and hence in a typical NDC style, he was sacrificed. With the audit trail beating fast to the Presidents office, the NDC changed tactics and decided to go for the suicide mission of involving EOCO so that both NPP and NDC easy pickings can be sacrificed to save the President. The EOCO Report did exactly as it says on the tin to redirect our attention to sacrificial lambs and make the President look innocent. Incidentally and in the process they have wounded the President beyond recovery in two main ways. Firstly, a charitable interpretation of the facts that depict the President as an incompetent person who has lost control of his cabinet and who would not have done anything about these extraordinary facts but for the Auditor General's report, kindly made known to our ordinary eyes by Kennedy Agyepong. Secondly that the matter had come to the President twice before the payments were made. The President is comatosed, a damaged person who is not even worth impeachment proceedings as 7th December will be in impeachment day by the peoples verdict. The NDC can agree to sacrifice Betty Mould, Martin Amidu, Woyome and the unsuspecting civil servants, but they cannot run away from the verdict of the people. They cannot run away from the fact that Woyomes money could have paid the NHIS premium of 7million Ghanaians, or built 500 schools or indeed feed our school children for three years. This is the gargantuan loss that they have caused the nation and for this reason MILLS MUST GO!
