Coca-Cola Management And Staff Talks end In stalemate

Citi Business News has learnt talks between management of Coca-Cola Bottling Company and union leaders over their conditions of service have collapsed. Sources close to the two parties say management of the company refused to accept the workers demand for their 25 per cent bonus to be paid them this month leading to a boycott of negotiations by the union leaders. The workers who have been on strike since Tuesday called it off this morning, but returned to their strike action hours later after negotiations between the parties failed. Sources close to the two parties had predicted that negotiations may linger on for some time as both factions are unwilling to back down on their demands. Citi Business News (CBN) has, however, learnt that one of the demands being made by the workers is the reinstatement of the human resource manager who was sacked on Thursday. It is unclear why she was booted out, but CBN has learnt she was kicked out because of issues relating to her loyalty to both parties.
