Kasapreko Company Limited (KCL) over the weekend grabbed two key awards at the 2014 National Tourism Awards organized by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).

The company’s flagship product Alomo Bitters was adjudged Tourism Drink of The Year and also Brand/Product of The Year.

The awards were to reward KCL for its excellent performance in the tourism sector and its consistent promotion of Ghanaian tourism.

Receiving the two awards, Group Chairman and Founder of KCL, Dr Kwabena Adjei thanked the organizers for recognizing Alomo Bitters at the awards ceremony which confirms that the product is a true brand of Ghana.

Sharing the success story of Kasapreko, Dr Adjei indicated that about 25 years ago, the company started with an objective to produce and sell quality but affordable drinks for all persons.

“25 years down the lane, the objective remains the same. We were the first to scientifically research and develop an herbal-based alcoholic drink which is today our flagship brand Alomo Bitters,” he added.

According to Dr Adjei, though a local brand, Alomo Bitters has now gathered global appeal and was named one of the top 5 alcoholic emerging global brands by CNN money pole last year October. “For a brand that has so much global appeal, I would encourage the hospital industry in Ghana to embrace the opportunity to showcase Alomo bitters to tourist that visit our various facilities as the drink of Ghana,” he commented.

He urged Ghanaians to patronize made in Ghana products because that will boost the country’s economic growth and also promote international trade.
