The former District Chief Executive for Agona East, Dr. Martin Luther Obeng has slated the Technical Advisor to the vice president, Dr. Gideon Boako for accusing the Mahama-led government of selling 58 percent of Ghana’s bauxite concession to Ibrahim Mahama, brother of former President Mahama.
According to Dr. Boako, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has no business cautioning the NPP administration against leveraging Ghana’s natural resources, specifically bauxite through its recent partnership with China.
Mr. Boako made the revelation while responding to former Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Inusah Fuseini’s caution against government’s partnership with the Chinese government.
“I want to ask the former Minister which part of the concession did they sell to the brother of the former President…? They sold 58 percent on 29th December 2016 when they were leaving office. The NDC government sold 58 percent of our bauxite concession to the former President’s brother. The one they sold to him was it possible to mine or not? They should stop this argument,” he said.
But speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, Dr. Martin Luther Obeng noted that the accusation by the Economic Advisor to the Vice President “is false. That is a lie. He should not rope Ibrahim Mahama in their mess”.
He was emphatic that the Chinese government rather granted Ghana a loan and not partnership as purported by government officials.
“They should come back again and tell Ghanaians that they went in for a loan. What they are saying that they are going into bauxite partnership. That is not true. What they are telling us is not true,” he told host Kwesi Aboagye.

WOW WOW MAHAMA AND HIS BROTHER ARE KCRIMINALS PAA THEY LOOTED ALL OUR NATURAL RESOURCES FOR THEMSELVES.CURRENT GOVERNMENT MUST REVERSES THIS DOGGE CONTRACT.
The concession the advisor was referring is in the Nkawie Forest in the Ashanti Region. It is called the Nyihenyhin Bauxite. As usual the too known Citi FM guys jumped onto the news without ant research so when they were interviewing the former minister he conveniently played on their ignorance by saying it is not in the Atiwa forest The concession that has been sold to Maham's brother is in a forest reserve. There are copious correspondence to the effect that the district forest manager at Nkawie refusing the application by the government and mineral commission under Dr Aubyn clandestinely sign off a potentially game changer in the fortunes of this nation to the Mahama family. So Inusah Fuseni should answer if Mahama family can mine in a forest reserve why can't the nation Ghana mine same? Government must take steps to reverse that licence revert the concession to the nation and build the integrated bauxite industry as envisaged by Kuffour and emphasised by Nana Addo.
So you see the real motive behind the demise of State Enterprises. Just to create olgarchies like Ibrahim Mahama. Just like in the case of Russia. ´´NDC ye Abrosam indeaad´´. Compare this to the Chinese Exprience.
A subsequent document sighted by Citi News indicated that, the ministry, under Nii Osah Mills, signed the agreement on December 29th after they had lost the election, to allow Exton Cubic Group Limited mine bauxite on an agreed parcel of land. But according to Nii Osah Mills, the agreement was signed in accordance with law. He could not verify whether indeed the company belongs to President Mahama’s brother. “It is simply a mining lease under Ghana’s laws. This was a contract to lease lands for the purpose of mining bauxite deposits.” Reports suggested that the area of land leased to the company was in a forest reserve in the Akyem area in the Eastern Region, but Nii Osah Mills said it was untrue. Former DCE, did you hear the answer given by the Former Minister Mills on the bauxite/ibrahim issue? some of you continue to do this type of wayside argument
If Ghanaians vote for John Mahama again he and his brother will sell Ghana. They will sell all of us. Selfish bunch of high way kriminals....Ibrahim Mahama is everywhere and nowhere. I don't know what is wrong with John Mahama. Do you think the country belongs to you and your family? We thank Ghanaians for booting you out.
I am not privy to this issue. Indeed, if after suffering humiliating defeat and such a transaction went on, then the NDC has nothing decent for the country.
mr DCE, Please stop defending this man. I have no problem with anyone working hard for their money, but this man has his hands in every 'cookie jar'. WHY?? Bauxite reserves sold to him? Road construction, oil haulage, purchasing, everything!! One person; all because his brother was president. Please give us a break!! And then, he issued dud checks too!! Aaaaaaaaba!!!
