Freelance investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni says he sometimes feel bad to see someone go to jail because of his investigation.
According to him, he only has such compassion for individuals who are not politicians yet their deeds cannot be accepted in the society.
The award winning investigative journalist whose exposé led to the arrest and later incarceration of alleged gay medical practitioner, Dr. Ali-Gabass said, “as human, I still feel bad that he is in jail, yet he was toxic to the society he was serving.”
“What I did was the right thing,” he added.
Speaking to Kofi TV in an exclusive interview, Manasseh Azure empathically said that his compassion for Dr. Ali-Gabass can never be extended to politicians after describing some as “criminals”.
“I feel happy when my works get the criminals who steal from government coffers in trouble. I don’t have any pity for them, not even a bit,” he said.
When asked about his relationship now with former President John Dramani Mahama after the ‘ford saga’, Manasseh Azure said, “He [Mahama] is a nice person but I thought he wasn’t doing something right at that time. I have never met him after the exposé, but I don’t think he will ignore me.”
