Ghana recorded two (2) new cases of COVID-19 bringing the total case count to 21, but with one (1) death on Saturday, March 21.
The country's first Covid-19 death, was a Lebanese male trader resident in Kumasi, and aged 61.
This leaves the existing number of cases in Ghana to 20.
Meanwhile, eight out of the 20 people who have been infected by the virus are doing well and are being managed from their homes.
Closure of Borders
President Nana Akufo-Addo, who disclosed this piece of unfortunate news during his third (3rd) broadcast to the nation on the Coronavirus pandemic update, also announced tougher restrictions to stall the spread of the virus.
This include, he said, the closure of all the country's borders – air, land and sea.
According to him, the borders will be closed to human traffic from Sunday midnight in a bid to contain the Covid-19 disease.
“This closure will not apply to goods, supplies and cargo,” he said in the address, adding that this would help reduce further escalation of the Coronavirus infection rate in the country.
He said anybody who arrives in the country within the next two weeks will undergo “mandatory quarantine” and tested for the coronavirus.
More Testing Kits Soon
The President also announced that about 50,000 coronavirus testing kits are on the way to Ghana.
He added that the procurement of the additional 50,000 testing kits is to augment the fight against the spread of the coronavirus.

the insincerity of our president is unmeasurable. You stop all public gathering but covertly gives NIA and EC to go on with their programmes. The most dishonest president ever.

EVEN THOUGH THE PRECAUSIONARY MEASURES ARE COMMENDABLE, ARE WE WAITING FOR THE SITUATION TO ESCALATE BEFORE FIRE FIGHTING THE SITUATION. IF THERE IS SOMETHING THIS VIRUS HAS EXPOSED IS THAT WE ARE NOT PREPARED AND TAKING THINGS FOR GRANTED. ITALY HAS INDICATED THEY ARE OVERWHELMED AND HENCE SEEKING HELP FROM OTHER NATIONS AND WE ARE HERE WAITING FOR THINGS TO BLOW UP IN OUR FACES BEFORE WE REALISE THAT OUR HEALTH CARE SYSTEM CAN NOT HANDLE THE NUMBERS GOD FORBID SHOULD THINGS ESCALATE. LET STOP FOLLOWING DIRECTIVES FROM THIS W.H.O. AND SAVE OUR PEOPLE. W.H.O. DIRECTOR JUST INTIMATED THAT THE VIRUS 'COULD BE AIRBOURN'. CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT HAPPENS IF THIS IS THE CASE? THE REPECURSIONS ON OUR NATION, MEANING EVERY ENCLOSED ENVIRONMENT IS A POTENTIAL POINT OF SPREAD OF THE DEADLY VIRUS, OUR TROTROS, MARKETS, OFFICES ECT. IN MY OPINION LETS LOCKDOWN LIKE RWANDA HAS DONE FOR THREE WEEKS AND FISH OUT THOSE INFECTED FOR TREATMENT AFTER ALL WE HAVE ALREADY SHUT DOWN OUR BORDERS
You head is screwed up. When did you realize everything is not politics? The hypocrisy and double standards of you and your cohorts is unprecedented.

Hypocrisy! Good to shut our borders, but that will not solve the problem since ken attafuah and Jean mensa are still insisting on their registrations. Why are you silent about this? Is it because you are in cahoots with them?
You need to close this boarders for long time but due to your drugs business you have waited to receive all your stuffs before . Your killing of JB Danquah will punished you .
