Parts of Greater Accra and the Eastern Region have been hit by an earth tremor.
This occurred a few minutes to 11:00 pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.
Some of the affected areas include Teahie, Nungua, Dansoman, Lapaz, Achimota, Dome, Gbawe, Weija, Botwe, Madina, Nsawam, Koforidua among others.
One person who shared her experience said: " I thought it was my imagination until it happened the second and the third time and then I also saw friends tweeting and sharing the news on social media".
According to both the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (ESMC) and Volcano Discovery, citing the United States Geological Survey (USGS) as its primary data source, the magnitude was 4.0 on the Richter scale with a depth of 10.0km.
The epicenter latitude / longitude was pegged at 5.6273°N / 0.3473°W.
No fatality or destruction of property has been recorded.
Meanwhile, several other cities/countries worldwide experienced some form of earthquake on the same night, including New Zealand; Japan (East Coast of Honshu); Mexico (near coast of Oaxaca); Ecuador; Arizona, USA; Lone Pine, California-USA; Iran; Papua New Guinea; Puerto Rico, among others.

I experienced it in Krispo City, Kasoa. The first time I thought it was thunder, I was on phone, I kept quite to listen to it very well, it stopped and happened for the second time, I then realized it was earth tremor.
if you dont have actual pictures dont show any pictures. journalist of today are too lazy. copy copy is all they do. you cannot be taking about Ghana and showing images from Asia . its is called fa*ke news and stuoped journalism
yes very true i experienced it in ASHAIMAN-ZENU AS WELL i was watching tv with my wife when it happened my wife asked what is that .
