A video of a young man paying dearly for refusing to adhere to the directives of the president to remain indoors has emerged barely hours after the commencement of the lockdown.
The young man in a casual apparel appears not to have only flouted the lockdown directives to warrant the punishment meted out to him; he displayed bravely by allegedly filming the military who were questioning some people who had come out of their homes.
“You’re videoing me so that you’ll post it. Then my girlfriend will see and say I’m wicked,” the officer was heard saying as he asked the young man to stand in the sun.
But that was not all. For proving to be recalcitrant, the ‘good old’ ‘adanko m’aso ye den’ punishment meted out to ‘stubborn’ students and pupils was applied as he was asked to squat continuously.
“Your girlfriend will see you,” the officer said as the offender carried out the exercise.
The incident is said to have occurred in Kasoa, Monday.
Watch how the military punished the civilian below:

He's lucky he didn't receive worse...jerk
Who cares, if they vote your president out in December because of these stoupid punishments you will lose your political appointment not me. So keep insulting you mother.
This was not part of their rules of engagement. A video already came which gave a fair indication of their brutal intentions towards civilians which kojo oppong Nkrumah flatly denied as fake. Now what they preached in that video is what they are practicing now! The military have no right to brutalize civilians under any circumstance and this was made very clear prior to lockdown. It is sad to see this happening in a country that touts itself as the gateway to Africa and cradle of democracy. Not that we expect justice for the young man as the case will be covered up if any investigation is initiated; after all people supervised the shooting of defenseless citizens who went to exercise their democratic rights during a bye-election but were cleared of any wrong doing when a commission of enquiry recommended otherwise.
Nana Addo should own up and resign immediately... this punishment was not prescribed in the Restricting Order Act
if this thing is not managed well, civil unrest can spring and it is not good for the government. Government should always review the modalities. Again i am not holding brief for those who foul the law but abuses from the soldiers could be very possible and it should be checked.
let your brains work. the wise part if you have any
By the end of this lockdown a lot of people will hate nana addo because of how some of them are being treated. This is same way Rawlings was hated during the revolution days. Even though it is for people good that these measures has become necessary, but Ghanaians in general don't like to be restricted. A lot people could potentially die of hunger and other sicknesses because of fear of being victimized. This type of punishment is unnecessary. Just ask them to go back home, they will comply.
