My attention has been drawn to comments made by Mr. Owusu Bempah, a member of FONKAR which has been reported by a section of the media that FONKAR wants President Mills to dismiss Former Attorney-General and now Minister for Education, Mrs. Betty Mould-Iddrisu in the matter of the payment of the judgement debt to businessman, Alfred Woyome.
Let it be known, and all must take note, that the view expressed by Mr. Owusu Bempah in this matter is entirely his own; it does not reflect the view of FONKAR.
In-so-far as Mr. Alfred Woyome followed due process as enshrined in the 1992 constitution to ensure that the judgement debt is paid to him, FONKAR cannot fault him nor the former Attorney-General who acted only to ensure that the loss to the state, caused by others, is reduced. If anybody feels that either Mr. Alfred Woyome or Betty Mould Iddrissu or both of them have acted wrongly in this matter, the right thing to do is to proceed to court.
In any case, President Mills has instructed EOCO to investigate the matter and as he rightly points out, the investigation must smoke out those who caused such a financial loss to the nation.
I wish to call on all members of FONKAR to always differentiate for the public their personal sentiments and that of FONKAR. I wish all a Merry Christmas!
