Mr Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, Member of Parliament for Odododiodoo, says he is the representative of all residents of the area in Parliament and not only for members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr Vanderpuye said this when he consoled victims of the fire outbreak at Old Fadama in Accra on Thursday.
Learning about the plight of the displaced persons, he ordered for some insecticide treated mosquito nets for distribution to them.
The Deputy Minister of Trade directed the community leaders to ensure that those directly affected by the fire, especially women, children and the vulnerable benefit from the aid package.
He expressed the hope to meet the family of a victim who lost his life during the outbreak.
Mr Bawa Hadi, a resident told the Deputy Minister who was accompanied by some Constituency Executives of the NDC and National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) officials about the need for the provision of access roads.
Mr Daniel Nii Okai, NDC Constituency Chairman, asked the NADMO staff to liaise with the Urban Roads Department for the release of a bulldozer and a grader to facilitate the work.
Mr Okai noted that fire is no discriminator of persons and urged the people irrespective of their political affiliation to come together and find a solution to the rampant disasters in the area.
