Newly elected New Patriotic Party [NPP] Member of Parliament [MP] aspirant for Tema West, Carlos Ahenkorah has insisted that his victory must unite his constituency in particular and the party in general rather than bring about any form of conflict.
According to him, the rivalry between him and the incumbent MP for Tema West Hon Naa Torshie Addo during their campaign must cease – “This is not a win for Carlos alone. It’s a victory for the party and the people of Tema West”
Carlos Ahenkorah won the NPP Primaries in the Tema West Constituency with a dramatic results that saw incumbent Irene Naa Torshie-Addo fall heavily.
The MP elect polled 500 votes – leaving his strongest opponent Irene Naa Torshie-Addo with just 273 votes and the third candidate Adwoa Amoako with an embarrassing figure of two [2] votes.
Speaking after his victory, Carlos maintained that – “I assured all that I will work with the other candidates. Our aim is to win election 2016”
He however pleaded with his followers to desist from politics of insults – “That must stop. We should be united. Together we stand; divided we fall”
