Former Metropolitan Chief Executive for Tema, Mr Robert Kempes Papa Nii Ofosuware, emerged winner in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary in the Tema East Constituency.
Provisional results sighted by graphiconline gave Mr Ofosuware 2,731 votes as against 1,235 votes garnered by his closest contender, Micheal Abbey.
The other contenders in the race for were Noah Apedoe Cranstia, who polled 223, and Nii Badiako Krakue who had 114 votes. Collation is still underway.
A jubilant Kempes stormed the collation centre at Tema Metropolitan Assembly premises draped in white calico with powder smeared on his head and face to signify victory.
