The Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima/ Mponua, Hon Isaac Asiamah has questioned the heavy load of work which is scheduled for Parliament usually a few days before the house goes on recess.
He raised the issue in Parliament today after the business statement of the House for next week had been presented to Parliament by the Deputy Majority Leader and MP for Ashiaman, Hon Alfred Agbeshi.
Parliament had been scheduled to go on recess today July 29, but bills which are yet to be tackled by the house forced leadership of the house to shift the date of recess to Friday 5th August 2016.
The Atwima/ Mponua MP said if the practice of pushing a heavy load of work on Parliament a few days before recess continues, Parliament’s best interest will not be served as proper scrutiny may not be done to issues which are considered by the house in a rush.
