The Ashanti Region Minister, John Alexander Ackon, will be acting as the Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA). This was confirmed on Wednesday, August 3 after a closed-door meeting between Mr Ackon and members of the Assembly.
The meeting was to officially introduce himself as the acting KMA Chief Executive to the members as well as heads of departments and agencies.
The appointment was from the presidency, Public Relations Officer of the Assembly Godwin Okumah Nyame confirmed on Wednesday. Mr Ackon comes following the resignation of Kojo Bonsu, who fell out with the Asanteman Council over its representative at the Assembly. Mr Nyame confirmed that the Minister officially began work on Wednesday.
