The vice-presidential nominee of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Patricia Asante, has revealed that she could not complete her basic education, but says being a dropout will not hinder her from delivering as a future vice president of Ghana.
On Monday, October 3, the presidential nominee of the GFP, Akua Donkor, named Mrs Asante as her running mate for the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.
Ms Donkor told the media after the announcement that Mrs Asante was selected because she has what it takes to do a good job as well as act in her stead if she is indisposed.
Speaking in an interview with Chief Jerry Forson, host of Ghana Yensom on Accra100.5FM on Tuesday, 4 October, Mrs Asante, 32, a farmer, said: “I could not complete my JSS (Junior Secondary School) education, but that will not prevent me from contributing the rich ideas I have to build the nation.”
She added: “Akua Donkor has given opportunity to those of us who are not educated to also have a say in Ghanaian politics and governance. The fact that I cannot read and write doesn’t mean I cannot contribute any ideas. People are in parliament today but do not contribute to discussions on the floor because they cannot speak English and so I will deliver.”

Eiiii! President and Vice paaa. Heheheheheheehehhe. See their faces. In which country or as executives of their town's singing band. Awwwww Nkrumah's Ghana!
@ Kankama, Why the insult here. Kankama, somebody's best meat is somebody's poison and so note that. please stop insulting, its never a good habit. Madam Akua Donkor has chosen her running mate and that is her choice please. will you insult her this much if she were your mother? please apologize to her. This platform is set for to share and contribute ideas but not for insults. it is one's wish to be illiterate and mind you all hands are not equal. Thanks Kankama.
CONCERT WOMAN.
is she not her mother??...there seem to be a striking resemblance between them
NDC sup1d1ty to sponsor this old w1cth Akua Donkor has made politics cheap. How on earth will such a complete illiterate be sponsored with taxpayers money to attend inauguration of a foreign President and no such less than the President of Nigeria, go to Italy as part of John Mahama's delegation and also to use Ghana money to buy 2XSUVs and a house all because of gutter politics. Are we serious as a nation at all to see these crass happening in Ghana. God will punish NDC for overseeing children dying and because of their corrupt practices have to retain power at all cost. Go on sponsoring for your time is near. You can sponsor persons like Ayaricough and John Mornah and who cares. Your end has come and no amount of cash you spend on such dotes as Akua Donkor and others can save you.
