The Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) has given the flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom and Hassan Ayariga of the All People’s Congress (APC), up to Wednesday, October 26, to explain how they funded aspects of their political campaigns.
According to the Daily Graphic, EOCO in its letter to Hassan Ayariga said it is interested in how he claimed to have expended over $6 million dollars to procure vehicles, among others. The letter to Mr. Ayariga said, “the office has analysed you statements and comments made to the media and circulated on social media.”
“In one such statement, you are heard to have said you expended over $6 million to procure vehicles, among others. The statement is of great interest to the office,” EOCO added, thus it has requested in writing the sources of the total amounts expended from Mr. Ayariga.
Letter to Dr. Nduom
EOCO is also asking Papa Kwesi Nduom to explain the source of the over GHc1.7 million Cedis he used to pay for his filing fees at the Electoral Commission (EC) and that of his parliamentary candidates.
In Dr. Nduom’s case, EOCO said, “Information available to this office is tho the effect that you financed the recent filing of nominations for both the presidential and parliamentary candidates with the total amount of GHS 1,750,000 from GN Bank.
The letters inviting the two disqualified flagbearers were dated October 21, 2016 and signed by the Executive Director of EOCO, Justice Tsar.
The participation of the two presidential aspirants in the 2016 polls is in doubt as they were disqualified from the December Presidential race after the Electoral Commission (EC) found anomalies in the endorsement of their nomination forms.
The PPP has since filed a lawsuit seeking an order of prohibition to restrain the EC from proceeding with balloting for position of presidential candidates for the 7th December elections.

So the peace council are now toothless bull?
These rumonur business in Ghana will kill EOCO because to me they seem to ignore their proper work just like the BNI and are rather been used in this toxic political war in GHana by the NDC ; which I am sure some officers will pay with their jobs if NPP wins the next elections ; WHY IS EOCO INVOLVED IN THIS FAECES OF VICTIMISATION JUST TO SAVE JON MAHAMA ; THIS IS CRAZY : HAVE THEY NOT GOT INTELLIGENT PEOPLE AT EOCO ? I do not think EOCO did their basic checks before they lunch into this political motivated of harassing Ndoum and Ayariga ; if Eoco must know Ayariga is being funded by JOn Mahama NDC and Paa Kwesi Ndoum has funds both internally and externally to fund a political party ; the man owes a bank has other businesses and has backers in the Us who will provide political funds to assist Paa Kwesi Ndoum ; the question is has EOCO bothered to do a re-tro investigation into the purchase of the ENBRARER helicopters from Brazil ordered by Atta mills in Jon Mahama was involved and who killed Atta Mills ; how and where did the NDC party get the funds to build their party headquarters ; to me this just futile victimisation of Mr Ndoum ; the fact is that this a political motivated initiative by Jon Mahama and the NDC but they not forget the adage 'YOU DO ME I DO YOU ' because if the NDC loses they shall find themselves in a very diffuclt situation under NaNa Adddo's government.
The so called EOCO must first ask NDC where they got the money from to build their headquarters, bought all those new campaign cars etc etc.... EOCO is acting like a branch of the b0gus NDC govt...
This is craziness, have asked JDM why he used tax payers money to buy two land cruisers and two houses for Akua Donkoh? Naaansense
this is what i call "communist inferior tactics". i gues there are better things we need to investigate too. like how young ministers who have never worked are overnight becoming rich. lets be serious for once
What is this ***barred word*** coming from. Has EOCO asked NDC how they have been buying cars and distributing to their constituency offices.NDC now have the largest fleet of vehicles more than any organization in the nation. Has EOCO asked them to explain. Look at the billboards covering every corner of the nation. Has anybody body raised an alarm? NDC paid for all the candidates contesting in the 270 constituencies. Has EOCO asked where they got the funds to these? In fact this Tsar man, i don't know if he is a Russian or an Ewe is very ***barred word*** leading an NDC propaganda organization. We need to hear you asking where these young Ministers are getting their money to build filling stations, houses they are selling left centre right, V8 they are driving and always in a hurry more than any Ghanaian, Wayome and all those awam debt payments NDC made to their cronies and not how and Hassan Omotuo Ayaricough and Paa Kwesi Nduom got money to fund their campaigns.Double ***barred word***
I think EOCO is not being fair to Nduom and Ayariga. What about Nana Addo, Mahama. This is selective justice. Mawuli is right in his assertion that this is to dispel Dr. Nduom to avoid a run-off against the ruling goverment.
There is clearly a conspiracy to dispel the Nduom challenge which will create a run-off situation. The EC wants to avoid a possible run-off which is likely to get too close to the 7th January inauguration and create a transfer of power difficulties.
Instead of coming together with NPP against THE ndc you were rather denigrating nana Addo. And now look at what ndc is doing to get you out of the game!
Lazy EOCO, acting on hearsay now? have you not heard the President say he'd not act only on hearsay? Stop this political buffoooonery and do the right thing for Ghana!!!
