A-52-year old man has been assaulted by members of a National Democratic Congress vigilante group at Fumso for making gestures suggesting change at the convoy of President Mahama.
Nana Akwasi Gyamerah, a native of Kuntenase in the Bosomtwe District of Ashanti region was attending a cousin’s funeral when four stoutly built members of the security taskforce assaulted him publicly.
They accused him of suggesting President Mahama’s government should not be maintained but rather be changed.
President Mahama’s campaign team was returning from Apagya in the Adansi South District at the beginning of a 4-day campaign tour of the Ashanti region.
The men in green NDC T-shirt onboard an American Ford vehicle with registration GW 9607-14 suddenly stopped and pounced on Nana Gyamera in the middle of the Kumasi-Cape Coast road.
It took the intervention of a lotto seller and a military officer to prevent the men from further attacking the middle aged-man as he fell onto the ground with his funeral cloth.
Nana Gyamera tells Nhyira FM he has been in pains after being hit in the chest and cheek several times with bruises on the feet.
The family is angry at the humiliation meted out to their relative. They have promised to pursue the matter.
His nephew, Asiedu Kofi Abraham says he was assaulted by the ‘machomen’ in his bid to rescue his uncle.
According to him, the family will pursue the case to its logical conclusion.
“This matter will not end here. Even if we have to go to court, we will go. If we should go to Otumfuo [Asantehene], we will go. My uncle is in pains,” he insisted
Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional NDC campaign team is not surprised at the conduct of Nana Gyamerah and several others who did same.
Spokesperson, Samed Akalilu says the party will investigate the assault case once it comes to its attention.
“That has not come to my attention so it would be difficult for me to pass a verdict or comment.”
According to him, President John Dramani Mahama runs one of the most decent campaigns ahead of 2016 elections.
"We run one of the most disciplined and most decent campaigns in recent time. John Mahama represents peace. He has always said this that he’s not divisive, he’s not diabolic ; he loves his people and he has united Ghana and everybody who follows John Dramani Mahama tries to emulates his behavior, he explained”
Meanwhile, the Fumso police have launched investigations after it issued Nana Gyamerah with a medical form.

Abufuws3m a kwaakwa!!! A dedrossing man of a president who cannot stand dissenting views and you call him man of peace and tolerance? Peace and tolerance my foot. How can he unify Ghana after killing Atta Mortuaryman? Even the people of Otuam have rejected him. We will continue to show him the change gesture till change comes. Change is coming for sure. The wind is blowing so strong and fast that Mahama and his crooks cannot stand it.
President John Mahama is the most tolerant leader ever elected to occupy the highest seat of the land. But I have a simple question. Was he aware that his men beat up an elderly man because the man in question expressed his choice of candidate for this year's election? You see the reason why I keep on saying that we will all go to hell including President Mahama?. We are so hypocritical to the point that the word hypocrisy is an understatement. Here a President mount a podium and malign the other as not being tolerant because he had agreed or played a role in the suspension of his party's national Chairman, General Secretary, and Treasurer or so when the latter had in fact been showing disrespect to the very law/rule that governed the office they occupy. Only time will tell. Change is coming and nothing can stop it. Those thugs can remove all the asphalt from the road constructed already, and I bet them that they will have to ,look for a job after January 7, 2017. Mark my word.
Okyena nso biom....lol
The beatings will not cause fear in those of us who want change and believe it will surely come to pass after December 7, 2016. They should rather use knives to cut our 10 fingers, that will be better. The majority of Ghanaian voters will surely change Prez. Mahama. Time asuoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
WHEN WE ARE TOLD BY THE SISTER OF JON MAHAMA OTIKO DJABA THAT HER BROTHER JON MAHAMA IS A WICKED MAN : PEOPLE DID NOT TAKE IT SERIOUS ; JON MAHAMA IS VERY BAD PERSON PRETENDS TO BE A CHRISTIAN BUT IN ACTUAL FACT A SATAN REINCARNATED : THIS IS A MAN WHO WANTS TO GO TO BED WITH EVERY WOMAN HE SETS HIS EYES : BUYS TWO CARS AND A HOUSE FOR AKUA DONKOR WHILST OUR OWN BROTHERS AND SISTERS AT THE MENTAL HOSPITAL SUFFER IN AGONY ; NO FOOD : NO TABLETS WHILST JON MAHAMA GIVES INFLATED CONTRACTS TO HIS FAMILY MEMBERS INCLUDING INBRAHIM MAHAMA : JON MAHAMA HAS TURNED GHANA INTO A FAMILY AND FRINEDS ENTERPRISES LTD :JON MAHAMA WOULD HAVE BEEN HAPPY IF THE MAN HAS BEEN KILLED BECAUSE AFTERALL HE ORDERED FOR SEVEN COWS TO BE BURIED ALIVE FOR HIM TO WIN THE 2016 ELECTIONS .
The party that claimed to be tolerant cannot even stand a passer by making a change sign and the president has the nerve to call Nana intolerant. Hmmmm, by their fruits we shall know them. The wave of change is blowing like a monsoon wind and i am afraid NDC cannot stand it that is the danger. So where is the police in this matter or better still the ***barred word*** syndrome is at play. See no evil if it is NDC but chase any one else. God help mother Ghana
We will do it more! Change intolerant Mahama
what do you guys expect when we don't respect and observe people in authority, the bible says give honor to whom honor is due, everybody should be punish by law when failed to observe and respect people in authority especially the President. You better thank God for democracy and the way we are abusing it. He would have been in a better position if its in the military regime.
HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN BEATEN MORE FOR THIS KIND OF STUUUPEEED ATTITUDE. NEXT TIME TRY IT AND YOU WILL RECEIVE MORE BEATINGS. NPP, MMOA AKYIDIFO
A 16 years old should have done this not a 52 years, the EC and NCCE has told us severally that we should avoid teasing and signs that will bring trouble. Why should you make a change sign when you know they don't want any change. As an NPP man i don't support this, let our thumb do the change on December 7th.He can go to supreme court and i bet you no NPP executive ,member will follow him because the judges will throw the case away.
