Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong, suspended National Chairman and General Secretary, respectively, of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) should show contrition for the conduct they exhibited leading to their suspensions, following the victory of the party in the just-ended presidential and parliamentary elections, George Ayisi Boateng, a leading member of the NPP in the Ashanti Region, has said.
The two gentlemen, a year ago, were suspended by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NPP for working against the interest of the party ahead of the 2016 elections.
Unlike Mr Agyepong, who accepted his suspension, Mr Afoko disregarded the disciplinary action against him and subsequently filed a suit against the party at an Accra High Court. However, the court upheld his suspension by the leadership of the NPP.
Following the party’s victory in the just-ended elections, Mr Ayisi Boateng, in an interview with Paa Kwesi Parker Wilson on Ghana Yensom on Accra100.5FM on Wednesday December 14, said: “They should show remorse for their actions and mke efforts to return to the party.
“If I were to be one of them, the very day that Nana Addo was declared the winner, I would have shown remorse quickly and visited him, because if you have been suspended from the party it doesn’t mean you have been sacked. Their indefinite suspension was not expulsion from the party and so they should come on board.”
Meanwhile, Mr Afoko has congratulated Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his victory in the elections.

It was clearly on the wall that NPP was going to win the election and bring back the prodigal sons among us. Now by the grace of God it has come to pass. I humbly plead with party members to forgive them and stop using abusive words on them. God does things in mysterious ways. Maybe it was as a result of what happened that provoked everybody to work extra hard to shame our detractors and betrayers. If I have a bone to pick with anyone that will Dr Arthur Kennedy and Dr Nyaho Tamaklo. But I have forgiven them all.
They would have rejoiced that NPP's defeat this time was from Sammy Awuku but still if u punish ur child he/ she is still ur child and u cant throw him away so they are still for us. kwabena Agyapong did much well by contributing to support the campign team before election and if Afoko too has congratulated the presdoo elect then i say thumbs up guys
They were waiting to say, we told u so, shaaaaaaame. Tell Kwasi Pratt and his likes, that NANA ADDO DANQUAH AKUFFO ADDO IS THE PRESIDENT ELECT OF GHANA. THANK YOU GHANA, be ready for an exemplary leadership we will support u, I am ready to build 2 factories for this great man, we are thinking of ginger drink, tomatoes drink , cassava chips, dandelion tea bags, instead of Lipton , Shea butter soap, even gari processing factory, Cocoa soap, cocoa tooth paste, cocoa cream, big brains , it's do able, God bless Ghana ,
Afoko, u are evil
So it was good after all that u were disciplined. U guys kept leaking information and u turned around to smile with us. Looking forward, i have learnd to go to heaven with one eye and one hand than to remain on earth wit 2 eyes and 2 hands. But thanks for helping npp make history - the party which went into elections with suspended party chair and general secretary.
I think Kwabena Agyapong has already shown some form of remorse by donating to some constituencies in the north if the publications were right. He needs to be pardoned
