Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi Boasiko, is extremely worried about the spate at which appointees and family members of President Mahama are allegedly signing dubious contracts with the speed of light.
The outgoing Mahama administration has come under close scrutiny following allegations that National Democratic Congress has recruited persons into the public sector and is awarding fresh contracts days after they lost the elections.
It is on this note that the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP has raised an alarm concerning certain shady deals that involves the Electricity Company of Ghana and IMES Ghana.
According to the NPP chair popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, he is reliably informed that IMES Ghana – an intelligent metering and energy solutions company is engaged in a dubious act with ECG and needs to be exposed before a new government led by Nana Akufo Addo takes over next year.
In an interview with Peacefmonline.com, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiko called on the transition team to turn their light on the dark acts currently taking place at ECG through the “connivance of President Mahama, his brothers and appointees”.
“I want to take this vow today and I will ensure it is fulfilled. If anybody, from Mahama’s family thinks he would loot the state for the last time and go scot-free, I will make sure he gets punished. I will embrass that soul and teach that person a bitter lesson”, he said.
Efforts to reach officials of IMES Ghana for a possible reaction to the story have so far proved futile.
Meanwhile, both sides of the transition team have reached a compromise regarding the signing of new contracts and other decisions with major financial implications by the President John Mahama-led administration in its last days.
According to President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo’s transition team, the outgoing administration will hence take all such decisions in consultation with the incoming administration.
The new Spokesperson of the President-elect’s transition team, incoming Ofoase Oyirebi MP Kojo Oppong Nkrumah confirmed this during the transition team’s second meeting on Monday.

why the sudden rush to award contracts and employing people with the speed of light. This he should have done when he began office.is it from this time until january he wants to resolve unemployment.I think the sitting govt should consult with the new incoming administration to these kind of issues.Mahama you cant change the economy in these last days.Mahama lost not due to incompetence but his greedy unqualified and inexperienced ministers.loot and share.
You are full of hatred. Give mother Ghana a break. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
if this guy's credibility is anything to go by, i would say his claim is as true as the ballot papers found in the hotel room in kumasi prior to the election day. pigs will grow winds and fly around the kwaadaso surburb before wontomi utters a word truth. i personally will expect a lot more this noncense from the yapping line of the npp before the official handover. mahama has lost. leave him alone to nurse his shame .
This guy thinks he has down something extra ordinary that brought npp into power but let me tell him it was clear that npp was going to win this year election considering some of the economic hardship that the country has gone through for the past four years. Besides electorates also feel ndc has gone for eight years and there was the need to try another government which obviously is the opposition npp. Another thing was the promises of npp which got into the electorates mind that they feel they should vote for npp. So wontumi shouldn't think it is because of him the party won
i fully back chairman. After all, he helped a lot to bring NPP to power so he has every right to demand proper governance. nana addo and his team must listen to people like wontumi on whose backs he came to power. Cancel the damnnnned NDC contracts. If NDC contracts were good, they would have won re-elections. It is time for NPP contracts due to NPP govt. There is no room for NDC contracts now. Chairman, go on with your vigilance, we are behind you FULL time.
Legally the ndc government mandate ends on 7 January 2017, so what is the beef of npp fuuls. You claim Ghanaians are unemployed so if the government is making sure it gives employment to those who need, why complaining. The government should keep employing and on the 6 of January release all prisoners.
One would have thought that they guy was rabble rousing because of the elections, but if after the elections he is still showing ediocyy then it means he is really a nut.
GO TO HELL WITH YOUR IDIOCY. UNREFINED HUMAN ENTITY
THIS GUY IS A ***barred word*** CHECK YOUR FACT BEFORE GOING PUBLIC
