Minority Chief Whip, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak has said although Minister of Finance Designate, Ken Ofori Atta is competent to handle his portfolio, he prays his [Ken Ofori Atta] soft spoken nature will not create problems for him when he assumes power.
According to him, he’s hoping that the minister designate who will be heading a very powerful ministry in the coming days will up his voice in his public engagements.
“He was calm, he understands the issues and he spoke the truth at least from my point of view and he was straight. The only thing I may say is that he’s too soft spoken for a Minister of Finance, I hope he’ll be able to up his voice when he’s speaking,” Hon. Muntaka said on Starr FM Tuesday.
Hon. Muntaka who’s also the Member of Parliament for Asawase, answering a question on which of President Nana Akufo Addo’s ministerial nominees has impressed him so far during the ongoing vetting named Mr Ken Ofori Attah.
“I think Ken Ofori Atta impressed me, why do I say that…he’s soft spoken but his calmness and the way he answered his questions impressed me. In fact along the line it disarmed me in asking probing questions further, because I realized that he kept his composure. Apart from what we try to do to find out if you qualify to be a minister of state, we try to measure your temparament…we try to measure how under stress you’ll handle issues in that ministry. Believe me I thought that Ken Ofori Atta, Minister of Finance designate personally impressed me most.”

We NPPs are not like the NDC people that gives ministerial position to talkatives .
Aaba please respect a Fellow Schorlar please, atleast Ivy League is not a mere pedigree of An Education. Army S.F.Eng
he is not a communication minister
You don't need to be boisterous to put across your views and to make a point. Alhaji Ibn Chambars has gone places with his low tone voice. The voice doesn't make a difference. The man has the 'stuff' and he will deliver.
I like Hon. Muntaka's objectivity in dealing with issues. In fact this reminds me of Hon. Ibn Chambers and Moses Asagah who have the same characters.
IS the brain that will work not his speech. If someone like Amissah Arthur could work there why can't he. It is high time NDC boys must learn from their mistakes.Big brains are about to take over this country. President Akuffo Addo we are still waiting for the special PROSECUTOR.Long live Ghana and long live KEEA
OSAFO MARFO WAS VERY OUTSPOKEN.HE HAD BEEN IN PARLIAMENT BEFORE AND WOULD NOT LET ANYBODY TO INTIMIDATE HIM. NDC SAID HE IS ARROGANT. OFORI ATA WAS SOFT SPOKEN AND VERY CALCULATED IN HIS CHOICE OF WORDS AND NDC SAYS HE IS TOO SOFT FOR FINANCE MINISTRY. SO WHAT DO WE DO NOW. KOSI A NKOSI KODA NKODA. EBEI NDCFO. OFORI MADE A GOOD SHOW. HE WAS LIKE OLD TIMES ASANTE KOTO FOOTBALL TEAM WHO KNEW HOW TO CHANGE THE FAST AND ROUGH PLAYING STYLE OF THEIR OPPONENTS BY A GENTLE AND MAN TO MAN PLAYING TACTICS TO DETERMINE THE PACE OF THE GAME. GENTLENESS IS A VERY POWERFUL WEAPON TO DEFEAT ROUGH PEOPLE. BRAVO KEN. YOU WERE SUPERB.
