Boakye Agyarko’s faith as the next Energy Minister currently hangs in the balance.
He is yet to be endorsed by the Appointments Committee following some allegations of perjury against his testimony before the committe.
And to make matters worse, the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central MP, Mahama Ayariga made a scathing revelation on Radio Gold that the embattled minister designate, connived with the Chairperson of the Appointments Committee, Mr. Osei Owusu, to bribe Minority MPs who were stalling his nomination.
Mr Ayariga explained that the Minority MPs unanimously rejected an enveloped amount of GHS3000 each, when they found out from Mr. Osei Owusu that the money was coming from Mr. Agyarko.
According to Mr Ayariga, the Minority MPs first accepted the money because they were under the impression that the money was their sitting allowance but got alarmed and decided to return the money after they heard rumours that the money was coming from Mr. Agyarko to bribe them.
As the issue becomes the rage on airwaves, the Chair of the Appointments Committee of Parliament, Joe Osei Owusu, has threatened to take legal action against persons trying to malign him by claiming he is part of the scheme to bribe minority MPs who have vetted Boakye Agyarko.
In an interview with Peacefm’s Emmanuel Akorli, Hon. Joe Osei Owusu threw a huge challenge to the Minority MPs to disclose the exact identity of the person who gave them the money as a form of bribe to speed up the nomination of Boakye Agyarko as Minister of State.

I believe this is a well calculated, planned and unscrupulously hatched story by mahama ayariga and the other poisonous tongues and sharp teeth baby-adults to create confusion in the minds of Ghanaians. The truth will be known very soon. They want to do anything evil to draw attention to themselves.
Hon. Osei Owusu should be careful. Infact I have never liked the way he even moderate the appointment committee when they questioned the nominees. He allows the minority to do anything to the nominees and only stops them at the last minute when they have stretched the nominees. Few times when Adjoa Safo moderated she did it perfectly. Hon. Osei Owusu should quickly gather himself and behave like a leader.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is quite obvious that Mr osei owusu has been taking bribes for a long time. Remember he was a practicing lawyer and we all know that lawyers take bribes, and then he went to DVLA which is a bribe Haven. No Wonder he didn't even remember GMO. He said GMA which is someway! The has received dollars from Monsanto and other toxic seed producers
Can someone tell me why a dishonest, liar and ***barred word*** like Ayarigah should remain in Parliament? And the were the type of me who ruled Ghana.
In civilised jurisdictions this th13f Ayariga would be sitting in his hut in the North twiddling his thumbs wondering whether the new government would institute an investigation onto his activities after his party lost power and the Encyclopaedias and tractor sagas In Ghana this kleptomaniac is instead making wild allegations against others. Is it not the height of sheer stup1d1-ty to think that one would offer money to the minority when the approval of his appointment does not really depend on them? The NDC never learns. Propaganda and lies don't win the hearts of the people.
What do expect??? Ayariga is related to lying Sinare by marriage. Birds of the same feathers flog together.
I believe bribing to secure position is normal in parliament. Both the majority and the minority are involved in this transaction for years. No wonder prof Stephen Addai and Martin Amidu last accused these law makers as corrupt and had never been invite for interrogation. SHAME
This ***barred word*** and uncultured ayariga should be forced to resign his seat if it is found out that he is lying. You can see that he is arrogant. Only Ghana that this guy can be a minister.
NPP Stealers. We told you so and this is just the beginning of the change
Massa; I think there is something sinister behind this bribery scheme !!!!! ; either it happened or it did not happen ; the question is why on earth should somebody pay money to influence the opposition when Osei Bonsu knew there will be questions asked by these NDC politicians about the source of the money besides was there any evidence of such cash stuffed in envelopes secondly why should Agaarko in his right mind with no skeleton in his cupboard seek to bribe his colleagues so he shall be nominated -MIND BOGGLING !!!!!!HAS THE MAN GOT ANYTHING SINISTER TO HIDE !!!!!
