The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, has cautioned the task-force set up by the government to desist from using ‘rough’ tactics to retrieve state properties from appointees of the former administration.
The Chief of Staff, Frema Osei-Opare, through a press release, urged former state officials in the Mahama administration to return assets, including vehicles and landed properties in their possession.
This release was intended to end days of acrimony that accompanied the retrieval of government assets by activists of the ruling party.
The measure, Apaak said was in the right direction but urged that there was the need for members of the task force to publicly declare their identities as a legitimate administrative right to prevent some faceless criminals take advantage of the gesture to harass the citizenry.
“If the government truly believes that what they are doing is legitimately right, they should let us know the identities of persons who are to go round to take back the government properties…,”
“Otherwise they are going to create a better atmosphere for armed robbers, criminals and the extreme elements of the NPP to take advantage of the current task force, which has come out of the office of the chief of staff to harass citizens of the country,” he said on Accra-based Montie FM.
The National Organizer of the opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, earlier alleged that about sixteen ‘unidentified’ men believed to be military personnel, and others from the National Security, seized five vehicles from his home.
“We expect that the NPP will respect the right of the citizens. They should follow the rule of law to take persons rightfully but not this Kangaroo-Rambo style of behaviour they are introducing. We will not accept this behaviour…” he said.

Apaak, if you think you are "patapa" we will should you that we possess power. If you know you have stolen state vehicle, return it before it is too late for you.
after stealing you want to be pampered to return the property, Kangaroo method will be gentle. you be talking rub111sh
YOU THIS MAN PAAAA WITH HIS ROTTING FACE, WHERE ARE THE 200 STATE VEHICLES YOU GUYS HAVE STOLEN????????? YOU BETTER RETURN THEM OTHER THAN IT WILL BE ELEPHANT- VAN DAMME TACTICS NOT KANGAROO-RAMBOO. SIAAAAAAAAAAA NIPA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree perfectly with you @B. Hon. Apaak should tell out-going colleagues from the ex-while government who still have the government's property in their possession to handover to avoid any "Kangaroo-Rambo style of Behaviour" as you have said. There is the need to handover peacefully so that Ghana will move forward in peace.
It looks as if Dr. Apaak is a Johnny-come-lately so he doesn't know what his NDC compatriots did in 2009. People were stopped in traffic and vehicles taken away from them. Nana had his vehicle seized and it took so long to return that he refused to use it again. I don't want to condone equalization of evil, so if the NDC officials do not want to be harrassed, they should just return state property quietly and then we'll all have peace. But this situation where chassis numbers are being changed gives cause for concern!
If the chief of staff really made such an annoucement then why dont you guys just hand over all those asset which belongs to the state and rather stope the kangaroo-ranbo style of stealing Appak or whatever tell you people to do the right thing cos if something is not urs u have to know by urself but u people are just waiting for NPP to take action then u use it as propaganda. Advice your people
