Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu has coined a new phrase for ‘dumsor’, ‘presɔ presɔ’, which means “on and off” to taunt government for the erratic power situation being experienced across the country.
Wrapping up the Minority’s debate on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s maiden State of the Nation address in parliament on Wednesday, 1 March, the Tamale South legislator said the challenges in the energy sector were far from resolved.
“‘Dumsɔ’ has become part of some dictionary but Mr Speaker very soon we’ll have ‘presɔ presɔ’ in Ghana,” he stated.
According to him, the Minority will monitor government to make sure they have no excuse to plunge the country into darkness because the NDC invested more in the sector.
“Mr Speaker, only a few months ago, the Ghanaian people, when there was ‘dumsor’, were told it was [as a result of] incompetence [but] today it is financial and technical difficulties. It can only be in the thinking of the New Patriotic Party. Few weeks and few months ago when there were outages, we could not explain that it was as a result of technical and financial difficulties. Today, they want to hide under that shadow and say that they are competent. We will monitor and evaluate their competence in ensuring energy security for our country,” the lawmaker noted adding: “Mr Speaker, let it be said that no government in the history of Ghana has invested in the energy infrastructure more than the NDC government.”

@frimpo: He is a taani that everyone knows in ghana yet your parents struggle to even recognize you because they didn't give birth to an an*mal with a post-@nal ta1l and tw1sted horns. People like you with warped mindsets are the reason at sixty years Ghana cannot boast of anything. Genius are denied areas of their expertise because they come from different areas or they simply speak different languages. Grow up, the world is moving really fast.
Akyimni abooooo..waaa
i admire you HAruna, you are very knowledgeable

you should rather shuuuuut up, any reasonable person will realize that NDC phooled ghanaians by telling us that theyve solved the energy crisis, so if indeed they did y then is just two months it have started and they even have the gust to say NPp need NDC people to solve it. If they had those people why didnt they solve it once and for all, this haruna with sharp teeth is coming down to kof adams and other sharp teeth babies levels
Look at him, he is running away from DUMSO!
Ghana is seriously sick! If this is the best guy among the minority in parliament to be their leader, then the country is seriously sick. Tomfoolery!
Is it politics or you are just being a hypocrite? How do you expect somebody to use less that two months to solve a problem you have meticulously created in eight (8) years? If all the money you and your government borrowed and stole through fraudulent deals and inflated contracts were invested in the power sector we would be having what you are calling preso preso. I hope the NDC will stay in opposition for a very very long time. Ghanians are wild awake now!
have we not gone beyond this kind of politics ? Its like politics of equalization,,,to h3ll with the people! Hanura i fear for your presidential ambitions
