The leadership of the Progressive People's Party PPP has accused President Nana Akufo-Addo of running a “family and friends” government in the wake of his appointments of new ministers and other appointees.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, the national chairman of the PPP, Nii Allotey Brew-Hammond took a swipe at the NPP government for its inability to form an all-inclusive government as promised during the 2016 campaign prior to the presidential and parliamentary elections.
He also indicated that the outlined policies of government will only yield slow pace of development in the country.
“We the PPP are increasingly surprised the that the change in government from NDC to NPP seems to repeat mere changes to personalities occupying high offices and positions of trust in our land and not change in the substantial matters of reorientation.”
“How does a strictly partisan NPP local government ensure that all Ghanaians get the opportunity to participate in it?” Dr. Brew-Hammond questioned further.
PPP ready to merge with other parties
At the same press conference, the PPP also announced its readiness to merge with other political parties to form an effective third political force in the country.
Dr. Brew Hammond revealed the PPP was negotiating with some political parties to create a political alliance that would provide a formidable opposition to the ruling government.
‘’It is only by bringing forces together that the dominance of the NPP and NDC duopoly can be broken… The PPP and other political parties would want to stand together now, united to offer disciplined, objective opposition and prove to the people that there is a better choice out there,” Dr. Brew-Hammond, stated.

If I were you I will learn from NDC babies with sharp teethsaga and tolerate the views of every Ghanaian. The man you are insulting is old to be your Father. Respect the elderly and be tolerant. A word to the wise is enough!
Nana Addo, must put the interest of the state at heart. PPP keep the fire up
HERRRR PPP, PARTY FOOO, YEREBRE NO, NA MOWOHEN??/ EACH AND EVERY POLITICAL PARTY WAS FIGHTING FOR HIMSELF OOOO, WE FOUGHT AND WE WON. AND WE HAVE MORE EDUCATED QUALIFIED MEN THAN ANY POLITICAL PARTY IN THIS COUNTRY?? WE SHOULD LEAVE OUR DESERVING MEMBERS AND GIVE TO YOU???/ TEWAAAAA, ENYE YIE WAI
It's not all monkeys who are chopping; the Akyem "Monkeys" are enjoying more than they deserve period. To many Akyems in Nana's administration. Other "Monkeys" are enjoying nothing. NPP "Monkeys" from the Ahafo part of Brong/Ahafo have nothing to show for. An area bigger than the Akyem area with resources and a bigger population than the Akem area, They also voted massively for NPP and Nana Addoh but the have nothing to show for. The Mills/ Mahamah administration appointed two ministers and a deputy minister from the area; Hon Opoku, Collins Dauda and Hanna Bissiw. Shame on Nana Addoh. The grandchildren of the brave hunters of Ahafo will never forget this snub.

Akuufo may consider is Charles Owusu a.k.a "CHANGE IS COMING" apart from Him Nobody will be invited by this new Gov't. Ndoum does not believe in the Special Prosecutor and if you don't want us to fight corruption then we can't work with you PERIOD!

my people take it easy, even though mr Hammond has shared his opinion however lets not forget that if the npps also fail us then there will be the need for ghanaians to turn back and trust the power to the smaller parties. lets not just take the crtics out of his contribution rather prove to them how committed the npps are towards the nation building of our motherland.
