Unless it does something drastic, the National Democratic Congress NDC (NDC), the country’s main opposition party, may implode before the 2020 general elections, The New Crusading GUIDE’s extensive analysis of the situation within the party has shown.
The party which is still licking its wounds after suffering a catastrophic defeat in the 2016 general elections is finding it extremely difficult to halt the ongoing blame game and name-calling that has hit the NDC like a dreaded disease and ravaging it beyond repairs.
The party for the past weeks has been, locked in allegations and counter-allegations against each other over misappropriation of campaign cash and the possible cause of the electoral defeat.
To avert the open accusations of wrongdoing against members, the party formed a 13-member committee to investigate the cause of the party’s mortifying defeat in the December 7 polls.
The committee, which was formed by the NDC’s Functional Executive Committee (NEC), and approved by its Council of Elders, is chaired by a Former Minister of Finance and Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission, Kwesi Botchwey.
Even before the committee would finish its diagnosis of the situation and proffer any advise, the crises rocking the party took a turn for the worse, with various factions emerging for and against John Mahama’s candidature for the 2020 elections.
Few days after the warring parties in the NDC conflict agreed to scale down their verbal war, information reaching this paper indicates that some allies of President Mahama who have been accused of mismanaging the presidential campaigns are engaged in various moves that may further deepen the cracks in the party, with a view not only to divert attention from their errors but also to ensure that the former President’s 2020 bid gains a general appeal.
Having been aware of plans to kill and cremate Mahama’s comeback dream, Madam Valerie Sawyer, a former deputy chief of staff have reportedly sent secret text messages to all appointees of the former President, inviting them to a meeting at Gold House, ostensibly to throw their weight behind his candidature.
Meanwhile some party executives have condemned attempts by individuals to endorse candidates as the party still considers the way forward after the defeat.

Towards 2020 is a disaster. Ndc never think of how to govern but always how to come to power. What is your message to Ghanaians the create, loot and share? The sole sourcing with half of the price into some ndc members pockets or the bus branding and judgement debt we still remember everything done to this nation and her people,we haven't forgotten about the incompetent and arrogant appointees we still remember your insults and disrespect for our judiciary,we still remember your pompous and the car ***barred word***,we remember the harm and damage done this nation ndc should think of 2057 for 2020 will be miserable for them. How are you going to close the over 1million margin votes to win? When nurses and teacher trainees are being employed just 4 months in power, when the SHS is going to be implemented this September academic year so which of ndc policy is going to beat the policies the NPP government is laying down? Ndc has no message apart from propagating lies which Ghanaians are now too wise and big to accept. Ndc had 8 good years to rectify everything but took Ghanaians for granted and they also show you where power lies. Not this time.
