Thursday’s [April 4, 2017] edition of Daily Guide’s newspaper reported that, state transporter, Metro Mass is on the heels of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) over buses the party rented whilst in government but allegedly failed to pay for the services the company rendered to it.
According to the paper, a pro forma invoice issued to the NDC after it had lost the general elections on December 7, last year, a total of GH¢1.921,896.99 was supposed to have been paid to the state transport company by the then governing party.
But responding to the claims, Deputy National Organizer of the NDC, Mardi Gibril described the story as mischievous.
According to him, the party paid GHc 420, 000 as a down payment adding, ‘’and so if you are not being mischievous, why would come out to allege that someone owes you GHc 1.9 million. Speaking to Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the Deputy National Organizer confirmed that they went into an agreement with the state transporter through which they were to give their services at a ‘’fare base agreement’’.
He insisted that there is no available record to show that the NDC rented the buses to transport the members to and fro. He expressed his disappointment in Metro Mass stressing, the amount quoted by the paper is incorrect and mischievous.
He revealed to the host that, the MMT brought the cost of the service rendered but the NDC protested the figure and asked them to go back and bring the correct figure but they have not done that, he added.
''We did not use the buses for free because we were in power. We agreed to pay and gave them a down payment. Anyone with the impression that we used the buses for free, and failed to pay is only being mischievous.''

WHAT A SHAME PARTY.UPON ALL ASIEDU NKETIAH'S BIG TALK, HE CAN NOT PAY BUSES THEY HAVE RENTED FOR THEIR PARTY PROGRAM'S? ALL THIS SHOWS THE KIND OF GOVERNMENT WHICH WAS RULING THE NATION.LET NANA'S GOVERNMENT SEIZE THAT THEIR PARTY OFFICE FOR METRO MASS COMPANY. WHERE IS ANITA DE SOSO, ASIEDU NKETIA ,KOFI ADAMS,KOUKU ANYIDOHO AND BABIES WITH SHARP TEETH? IF YOU MAKE AN AGREEMENT WITH SOMEBODY AND MAKE PART PAYMENT THAT MEANS THE REST IS NOT SUPPOSE TO PAY.WHICH LOGIC IS THIS? IS THIS NDC PARTY LAW OR GHANA LAW? SHAME ON YOU PEOPLE.CREATE LOOT AND SHARE PARTY YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED.
This confirms how NDC misused the nation's resources and stole all our money. If NDC hadn't lost power no one would ever know that they used MMTL buses without paying. What they actually did was to rent all the buses so their political opponents could not have access to transportation to go and vote in their respective constituencies. The party must pay. If the party doesn't pay, the then MD of MMTL must be dragged to court with the party for willfully causing financial loss to the country.
Down payment is not full payment for the service rendered.
So this party called NDC does and will NOT stop falsehood and propaganda. Whoever read this story properly will understand what I am saying. Do he mean that if he owes someone and he make a down payment it means he DO NOT the owner. With this I am afraid NDC will remain there because these days Ghanaians are wild awake. The days matches boxes and money cannot buy Ghanaians mind.
You people won't stop lying. Onaapo
