Newly-appointed Ambassador-at-large Dr Edward Mahama has said he will not disclose to the public the specific role President Nana Akufo-Addo has asked him to play in his new portfolio.
“I won’t mention it on air,” the five-time flag bearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC) told sit-in host of the Class91.3FM Executive Breakfast Show, Kwesi Parker-Wilson, on Tuesday 11 July in an interview.
The medical doctor, however, added: “It’s an area that I feel very passionately about.”
Ambassador-at-large means the President is at liberty to assign Dr Mahama to any role he wants him to play.
Dr Mahama said his appointment was “an honour to serve God, the nation and the president”.
In his view, turning down that opportunity would have been a show of “inordinate pride – which I don’t have”. “Serving this nation in any capacity is service to God,” he added.

WHY IS YOUR ROLE A SECRET?EWARD
Probably he has been assigned to be shining Nana addos shoes, that's why he is ashamed to disclose his role.
It is simple he is a flex.
I'm glad Dr Mahama has shown great maturity to Ghana journalists who are so sensational about the least thing. Ghana journalists are so lazy they never get off their seats to research but sit on their butts and call people counter and rebut accusations. I'm glad he said I won't reveal my role but it's something my heart desires, just simple to keep those journalists from their dirty politics. I never knew all journalists, presenters etc could all be politicians belonging to one party or the other so there is no neutrality in their reporting for Ama Ghana. I don't think it was a good question to call the man to ask him of his role in his new position if not just for sensation or political scores,it is disgraceful to be a journalist in Ghana. Those days are gone when good journalism made the country peaceful and hardworking and those days are gone when students of the Institute of journalist went abroad for exchange programmes which benefited them and the country a lot. I don't even know if today's students have that chance because their journalism is appalling, too much talking with no sense. It's like each one wants to undo the other to be the best talker or writer by vilify and denigrating hard earned reputations of our successful citizens. They are disgusting and evil. Somebody tell them to get out of their ***barred word****s and research before they come out with their sensationalism to avoid embarrassing and humiliating our good people. Today's are us*less unlike the good old days. May God bless the Elizabeth Ohenes, Cameroun Duodu, Tommy Annan Forson,Vida Koranteng Asante, Carl Agyeman Bannerman, Opanin Kwasi Donkor, Okoh Dagadu,Kwashie Dompreh etc. They brought sanity and respect to the media fraternity. We will forever miss them.
These are the people who have Ghana @ heart not those greedy ones who just shows up to be hand picked for their selfish ambitions because.....
