Atik Mohammed has lambasted journalists in the country for reporting what he would say are trivial matters when there are issues affecting the core of the nation.
The embittered General Secretary of the People's National Convention (PNC) wondered why the media has shifted focus and appears to be hooked on the Kwesi Botchwey report of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He was on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' programme commenting on the Kwesi Botchwey report.
The contents of the report were disclosed by some media organizations in the country and since the report popped up, NDC leadership and members have debunked the media reports regarding the Kwesi Botchwey report.
The NDC has described the portions of the report in the media as mere falsehood because to them, the report has been concealed and will remain in the party.
Addressing the issue, Atik asked how the Kwesi Botchwey report is going to put bread and butter on the tables of Ghanaians when there are pertinent matters that have a direct impact on the nation and need to be captured by the media.
To him, the media should be reporting on the initiatives, policies and activities of the Akufo-Addo administration to put the government on her toes.

For once I agree with this gentleman. I feel ashamed when I listen to some of our leading media houses wasting precious air time on KB report that has no bearing on the development of this country and leave out their responsibility to put this government on its toes. Some of our young journalists at Multimedia Group make it their duty to run down NDC, so any news they deem negative about NDC, these young folks would always want to be the first to put it out. What a shame!
At time l feel so bad when l read comments by some people on this platform. My question is do people read before commenting? What is wrong with what Atik said? Do you have to insult people to make your point? I personally think the media is not doing us good when it comes to KB report. As someone already said what benefit do we derived from wasting their time on this KB report. We have good policies this government is carrying out and also bad one. Don't they have anything to say? Are there supposed to hold the government or opposition to account.
I listened to Atik and though mostly said the report could serve as a great value for all political parties to avoid getting into the same mess as NDC and said that the NPP was working but their small blotch could send them to opposition. He also said the NDC did every bad thing and that the NPP was doing far better than them
petrol is now selling 21 cedis, electricity is on the highest, cost of living is on the highest and all joy fm can talk about is Kwesi Botchway report. Abi kwesi Twum is also enjoying the spoils of war
Listen to what this Atik is saying oo. They make noise on air and go behind the scene collecting money from people in authority. Atik must bow his head in shame for joining the league of Pratt, Mornah and Kabila. Disgusting!
Atik, chopping NDC stolen money is not important? Ei, Ghana's so-called politicians!
Irresponsible people make irresponsible statements, Mr. Akanba. People of such low conscience should not be allowed to raise children for they would make them liabilities instead of being assets to the state of Ghana. A word to the wise is enough.Look at yourself in the mirror and see if you can call yourself a Ghanaian
This is the most irresponsible staement made by Atik. In his sense of judgement issues pertaining to the govt in power should only be the ones that ghanaians should concern themselves with. Registered political parties are considered public institutions because any one of them could be in governance some day. Therefore, the ills in its administration should bother Ghanaians. If his views is to be accepted then no media should discuss activities of non governing parties. The party to which he belongs should be the first to be ignored. When he was dismissed from his position in his party, it came up for discussion in the media of which he was heavily involved. Mr. Atik, look before you leap.
I wonder if u r a a ghanaian. He said the right thing
***barred word*** TALKS!!!
