The Africawatch pan African magazine, has initiated a campaign to discredit the free senior high school (SHS) programme, introduced by the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The magazine has consequently dedicated its February 2018 edition scheduled to be released unto newsstands next week, for the start of the said campaign.
In a 44-page Special Report on what it says is “poor education in Ghana,” the magazine, according to the Inquisitor newspaper, has already airlifted about 73,000 copies into Ghana and being kept in a house at Tema Community 18 in Greater Accra.
The magazine leads with the question, “Is FCUBE an achievement?” with the photo of the Minister of Education, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh on its cover page.
According to the newspaper, the Executive Editor of the magazine, Mr Steve Mallory has demonstrated his opposition for the Akufo-Addo led presidency for some time now.
Prior to election 2016, the magazine published in its August 2016 edition, what it said was President Akufo-Addo’s health condition and therefore concluded he was not fit to be elected as President.
According to the newspaper, even though Mr. Mallory, has never hidden the fact that President Akufo-Addo ‘was’ his friend and had contributed towards his political ambition, the relationship between the two, as well as between Mr Mallory and the NPP has become frostier after the August 2016 edition of the magazine.
The February 2018 edition of the magazine, is therefore said to be part of the existing hostilities between President Akufo-Addo and Mr. Mallory as part of efforts to strip the government bare on its flagship programme, the Free SHS which has been largely welcomed and praised by many.
This time around, the Minister of Education, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh has also come under attack by the magazine because of certain strong decisions he took to make the rolling out of the programme successful.

***barred word*** ndc and their discredited news papers would never churn out any thing good for mother Ghana, a bunch of evil doers who mean nothing good for this country. kwashia buuuuului, agyimifour kuo ndc
Leave the imperialist colonialist, this is not the first time and certainly would not be the last time with this kind of propaganda to discrete the forward ever much. As long as Mr Steve Mallory cannot vote in Ghana and also prevent me from voting the NPP, I will always be a citizen! HE Nana Addo, just relax and keep moving for we are steadfastly behind. He should go drink his coffee
He who feels it knows it all. Ghanaian parents do not need steve malory to tell us about the free shs. Those of us whose children are beneficiaries of the programme know its usefulness and the huge financial burden that have been lifted off our heads. We are not animals nor trees for we can make things out ourselves. Steve Malory, please stop insulting the intelligence of Ghanaians for you are not wiser than us. For whatever purposes that you have been paid to do, you just enjoy the money and we also will enjoy the benefits of the free shs.
My advice to the Government is scrap free boarding fees, I'm saying so because,it brings about congestion at the boarding houses leading to an outbreak of all types of diseases. What I will suggest is Government takes care of everything except boarding fees(tuition, books, uniforms, exams fees science labs fees, sports fees etc)leaving the boarding fees for parents if we so wish. This is my contribution on the policy moving forward to streamlining the bottlenecks it may have, thanks.
How do you expect everything which involves human input and interface to be perfect? Are you okay? When NDC registered their members biometrically, did you know why they are reverting to manual registration? If it was a successful exercise, would they change it? YOU MUST STILL BE IN A COMFORTABLE LEAD... Even in a developed country that I live and worked in, they have challenges in their innovations at inception, but they solve them along the way.
To begin with, the word Social Democracy is a misnomer. When socialism collapsed they forcibly coined that word. They DO NOT BELIEVE IN DEMOCRACY! These socialist boys feel they and they alone have the right to rule Africa! Meanwhile they have not been able to successfully improve any economy in Africa and the world at large. They have only succeeded in hijacking civil society, hence its demise. Their two main papers in Africa: The New African and Africawatch have done a great disservice to Africa by constantly churning out falsehoodd, thereby deceiving the unsuspecting reader. Ghanaians already know that the NDC is demonicc so no matter what Africawatch says Nana Addo will not lose focus. Ghanaians know what they went through when they listened to the socialist boys' propaganda in 2008 and voted out the NPP. Once beaten, they say, twice shy. Never, never and never again will Ghanaians entertain NGC propaganda. Thanks to Daily Graphic and Peace online for warning us in advance of this grand plot.
IT has started and it will be improved on by the end of the 4 year mandate the system will be in the best shape in so far as our resources and affordability are concerned.
They can take a 10 minute advert on CNN.Who cares? We know what the NDC is .We know that this is by far the most evil, congregation that has ever emerged on the Ghanaian political scene. If we wait till all the problems on our educational front are fixed before we start this programme it will take us another 40 years. The majority of children will stay on the streets and the country will be worse for it.This discredited magazine published lots of falsehood about Nana Addo before the 2016 elections tagging him with 3 or 4 major ailments each of which will lead to the demise of any man any day. Yet the man is alive and is the president. So why would anyone except the NDC and its cohorts take any notice of this rag-sheet?
As usual, predictable. Just before 2016 elections, tis same propaganda piece of the national disaster confusion uesd to do their dirty work to no avail. They are at it again, it will not wash
He can go ahead and pulish what he thinks. No campaign can change our minds. As parents we know what FHSS means. NPP will rule Ghana and achieve a lot for this country for the next 12 years. Parents know what payment of school fees mean. Most parents had to defer Christmas every year because any Christmas spending would mean the children cant pay fees in January. Nobody said FSHS will not have problems, yes there are problems but they are being solved addressed. Free SHS all the way.
