More people especially appointees in the erstwhile Mahama administration implicated in the infamous GYEEDA scandal will be jailed, acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu has hinted.
According to him, there are ‘big fishes’ who are also guilty of causing financial loss to the state and government is working assiduously to bring them to book.
His comment comes after former GYEEDA boss, Abuga Pele and business man Philip Assibit were convicted by an Accra High court for willfully causing financial loss to the state.
Mr. Pele who was the Member of Parliament for Chiana-Paga in the Upper East region was handed a 6-year sentence whiles Assibit who claimed to have secured a $65-million World Bank funding for the creation of one million jobs for the youth was jailed 12 years.
Speaking on Adom FM Monday, John Boadu said prosecution of culprits in the GYEEDA scandal is far from over.
He indicated that, the Akufo-Addo government, as part of its drive to fight corruption in the country, will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that people who defrauded the state are punished.
“A lot of people were cited in the GYEEDA report for defrauding the state so we will investigate and bring them to book”, John Boadu stressed.

John Boadu now a prosecutor? Eii Oman Ghana. Esie ho da kwan nea ***barred word*** biara wuramu bi.
John, you can say more people will be prosecuted but to say 'WILL' be jailed is inappropriate, it's creates the impression of collusion with Judges to punish people whether they are guilty or not. You can say that when you are the general secretary of the opposition party but your language must change the moment you come to power. lets be careful the impressions we create, it will come back to hunt us later.
Everyone in npp is now a prosecutor and at the same time a judge. Jail all past gov't officials and in 2021 all erstwhile officials of npp government will face the firing squad. BAM
Let justice be done.
Hmmmmm! Nobody cares about your rent and bills. Do you expect me or the NPP to do that for you? You are just an idi*t to follow ndc, if ndc John mahama couldn't create jobs for you but did to his brothers, friends and cronies how do you expect me or the NPP to satisfy you? You people are fo*ls and have no shame.
we need stolen monies to reduce our debt stock whiles we secure the economy by closing in all loop holes that enable persons to create, loot and share. Africa needs to rid off corruption.
you are so ***barred word***
YOU JOHN BOADU, ARE YOU SURE YOU HAVE NO COBWEBS UNDER YOUR PILLOW? DO YOU REMEMBER DURING THE 2008 ELECTIONS SOME HUGE SUMS OF MONIES BELONGING TO THE NPP GOT MISSING AND AROUND THE SAME TIME SOME HUGE SUMS OF MONEY WERE FOUND HIDDEN IN AN EMPTY TV BOX BEHIND YOUR CURTON IN YOUR BED ROOM AFTER YOU HAD ASKED SOME PEOPLE TO GO AND PAINT YOUR ROOM? NOT LONG AFTER YOU BOUGHT YOUR HOUSE IN EAST LGON? CAN YOU CONFIRM IT OR STATE OTHER WISE? GOD IS WATCHING. CLEAN YOUR COBWEBS FIRST BEFORE DECLARING OTHERS AS FILTY. THOSE WHO CRY CRUCIFY HIM ARE NOT NECESSARILY WITHOUT BLEMISH
More to be jailed... including Ken Ofori Atta
Funny people. As if jailing people is what we will eat. You think people could jailed to cover up your own corrupt practices? Ghanaians are not fuuulls as you assume. You can jail everyone but that doesn't erase the reality on the ground that you are doing nothing and Ghanaians are still suffering. If former president Mahama is jailed, how does that reduce my high rent or the general high cost of living. Yes, punishing people who steal is a step in the right direction, but don't we voted for you to only come and jail thievvess and also keep sttealling. We need proper change of our lives. My advice is be interested in taking the monies back, because if you jail without taking monies back you've done nothing.
