The Northern Regional Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Halid Abdul-Rauf says the party will work hard to win the 2020 general elections to be able to rescue Ghanaians from the “shackles” of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He said internal wrangling was one of the main causes of the party’s woeful defeat in the elections adding that “the rank and file of the party have reunited to help recapture power from the NPP”.
Addressing delegates at the Northern Regional delegates Congress of the party in Tamale, Mr. Abdul-Rauf urged party members to use internal mechanisms to resolve their differences rather than resorting to court.
“All party members who took the party to court before and after the 2020 elections have been defeated, and we urged all members to abide by the constitution and use structures to resolve their differences,” he said.
On his part, the Member of Parliament for the Tamale North Constituency, Mr. Alhassan Suhuyini urged both delegates and aspirants to put aside their interest and conduct themselves in order not destroy the fortunes of the party.
A total of 1,100 delegates have converged at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale today to cast their votes for 71 aspirants for the various positions in the regional delegates elections.
The theme for the Congress was 'Rebranding for Victory 2020'.

You see, Nana is a first class politician who has clearly defined his policy and thoughtfully coined a powerful slogan, 'Ghana beyond Aid' to embody and reflect his vision. Which seems to be appealing to most of the World powerful leaders and finding a positive response. I was emotionally touched when I heard OYE, Nana's favorite song being played for him, to welcome him to China. A friendly gesture, indeed. I am not saying this to scare away NDC from the 2020 elections, but to contest the caliber of Nana and his NPP to date, you really have to tighten your belt in terms of policy message and political expediency. Propaganda, populism and lose polemics can never be a match for Nana, the President, and his NPP. And I strongly warn NDC to discard playing the tribal card of bigotry. That would clearly be counterproductive and NDC would suffer bitterly for it. For, the Ghanaians have grown out of the status quo-politics of deceit, boys with sharp teeth mantra and repetitions of lies for ostensible truth. And I bet, 20% execution of NPP promises and manifesto would put her out of reach for NDC in terms of its multiple effects, competence, credibility and fulfilling the aspirations of many Ghanaians. The dynamics of World Politics today, put good Leadership in African Politics at advantage to boost and own wise investments in Africa. So far I see some hope in Goosie Tanoh for the NDC at least to bring NDC, to break away from Legon campus type of politics. Goosie seems determined to start from grassroots work, to transform NDC into real, practical, policy and issue-based politics relevant to solving the economic and social problems facing Ghana and Africa to date.
RESCUE YOUR SHARTERED NDC FIRST, 8 YEARS OF NDC NOTHING SHOWS.
Heeeeeei !!!!!!!!!!!! Hmmmmmmmmmm
i can not imagine that i can have electricity power at a reduced price whilst under NDC, the power is higher at about 20% of what is being provided today. i can not think far. what shark....les.
