Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Obiri Boahen, wants the president, HE Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to be celebrated for the efforts made in resolving the nearly two decades old Dagbon impasse.
He says, this is historic and that it will put an end to the yearly conflicts which have claimed innocent lives over the years.
Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia programme, he explained that though the Andani’s may have a case on paper, the peace of Dagbon now is paramount and that is what the President has delivered.
"There have been successive government who did their part but were unable to resolve it but let’s give credit to where it is due and that is the President, H.E. Nana Addo," he added.
"You see as a lawyer for the Abudus', we have been in and out of court all this period just to see how this case can be resolved. Even after there was a land mark court ruling for the Abudus to organize the funeral of the late Ya Na, the Andanis were not satisfied and that is how come a committee of eminent chiets was set up to have the case resolved and this is historic".
However, in a sharp rebuttal Member of Parliamet for Juabeso, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh says the President H.E. Nana Addo should not feel swollen-headed because of the praises showered on him for the resolution of the Dagbon conflict.
Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia programme, he explained that the current president's predecessor also played a significant role in the peace in the area.
"Former President Mahama did his part and he must be acknowledged for his role," he stated.
The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, just as the royal occupant of the Golden Stool, HRM Otumfour Osei Tutu II said;"is a lucky president to have the Dagbon crises resolved in his time and i repeat, the president is just lucky to have the crisis resloved and a new Ya-Na en-skinned during his tenure as president."
Following the approval of a road-map for peace in Dagbon, the final funeral rites of former overlords of Dagbon were conducted, and a new Yaa-Naa named in the person Abukari Mahama II.
President Nana Akufo-Addo, former President John Dramani Mahama among other dignitaries were in Dagbon to grace the historic coronation of Abubakari Mahama II as the new Yaa-Naa.

NYAME NHYIRA NA MA ONIPA YE KESE. OBRESO ADWUMA...(MRRS. SAFO) LIFE IT LUCK AND MISFORTUNE. WE DO NOT SUCCEED ONLY BECAUSE WE WORK HARD.WE SUCCEED WHEN GOD'S PROVIDENCE MEET OUR GOOD EFFORT. NON BELIEVERS MAY CALL PROVIDENCE LUCK. IN LIFE WE ALWAYS NEED PROVIDENCE TO ATTAIN THE TARGET WE SET FOR OURSELVES. WE SHARE THE PROVIDENCE OF GOD WHEN WE ASSOCIATE WITH THE PEOPLE WHO HAS BEEN BLESSED WITH IT. THAT IS GOD'S PRINCIPLE, AS MADE KNOWN TO ABRAHAM. IT IS FROM YOU THAT I WILL BLESS ALL NATION.
Ohhh so going by your logic Mahama was an unlucky President. So Dining hall prefect, why should we bring back an unlucky and a bad luck President.
THEN STOP SINGING PRAISES TO NKURUMAH AS IF HE ALONE FOUNDED GHANA
the problem with ndc is their inability to achieve good things for the people of Ghana, they rather benefited from the conflict in Dagbon I will urge the govt to keep an eye on all ndc activities in that enclave they can do their evil thing. ***barred word*** if it were to be negative news these an1mals (ndc) would be the first to accuse Akuffo Addo fuuuuulissh political party who doesn't think always taking advantage of adversities of the ordinary Ghanaian, kwashia buuuuului
Mahama once said he is the luckiest president so Mr Akando listen to yourself before you speak. Hournable is not achieve on lies but truthfulness.
This is what you get when you elect people whose work experience is dinning hall prefect to parliament. These are a disgraccces to parliament as an institution. This is what you get when you are given a blank cheque to go and buy Mercedes Benz but when you get to the show room you decided to buy Tuk Tuk and you want the Tuk Tuk to behave like the Benz. Never.
Mr. Akandoh, for once you got it all wrong. A lucky person is one prepared to take advantage of a given opportunity. The presidents involvement in the peace process cannot be discounted. So, let us give him the credit he is due.
"Empty barrels make the most noise" Akando is synonymous to empty barrels he speaks free and think free. Inferiority complex has donned on him. I always feel sad hearing him talking.
Akando, President Akuffo Addo is not lucky but competent and blessed by GOD.
WHOEVER CREATES THE MESS MUST TIDY IT UP.
