A report of the Privileges Committee of Parliament on breach of privilege and contemptuous remarks allegedly made by Hon Kenedy Agyepong MP for Assin Central in 2018 which was to be considered by Parliament today 12th February 2019, has been postponed to tomorrow Wednesday, 13th February, 2019.
When the Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Prof Michael Aaron Oquaye asked Hon Joseph Osei Owusu Chairman of the Privileges Committee and First Deputy Speaker of Parliament to move the motion for the adoption of the committee's report, he ( Hon Joseph Osei Owusu ) explained that since there is another case of alleged contempt of Parliament against Hon Kennedy Agyepong for which Hon Muntaka Mubarak the Minority Whip dragged Hon Kennedy Agyepong before the committee in January 2019, leadership of the House decided that the second referral be dealt with by the committee so that both reports could be considered by the House at the same time .
However, the Speaker Rt Hon Prof Michael Aaron Oquaye disagreed to the suggestion and ruled that the report on the first allegation of contempt of Parliament which was made by the same Hon Muntaka Mubarak against Kennedy Agyepong last year, should be considered by the House tomorrow (13th February ) .
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Asawase, Mubarak Muntaka, has dragged Kennedy Agyapong to the Privileges Committee of Parliament.
Muntaka wants the Assin Central to be charged for inciting violence against the murdered Tiger Eye PI journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale.
Muntaka, who is also the Minority Chief Whip, said Ken Agyapong incitement of violence against the Tiger Eye PI journalist was in contempt of parliament.
“I made this complaint of contempt of parliament against my own colleague for the embarrassment and uncalled for comments and incitement of the public against a member of the public that unfortunately led to the death of the gentleman," he said.
Ahmed Hussein-Suale was part of the investigative team of Anas Aremeyaw Anas' Tiger Eye PI that uncovered the massive corruption at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) last year.
He was shot in his car on his way home in Madina by unknown gunmen last two weeks.

Why we allowed demons covered our eyes since NPP came into power and if someone is saying the truth no seems to understand him or her? The man of God was saying the govt has to help NAM1 and make sure proper scrutiny is given to his business and not close it down at ago. So if your govt can not help you or give you directions in your business is that the good governance? Then who would help you and correct you
How do you prove that the pictures Hon. Kennedy Agyapong showed led to the killing of Ahmed? This is a wild allegation Murtaka is making Kennedy Agyapong. Kennedy showed the pictures because he had the evidence that Anas and Ahmed were involved in criminal activities and as a member of parliament, he felt responsible to expose them. He did no wrong or commit any contempt of parliament. What kind of parliament is that for a member to drag another member to the privileges committee to be punished for doing the very work that it is supposed to be doing, in protecting the public from criminal activities. You hail Anas, a private journalist for exposing, blackmailing, and destroying peoples' lives, but you condemn Kennedy for speaking the truth about the whole show? Murtaka's intentions are too political and diabolical. Parliament must be careful and not make any ***barred word*** decision against Hon. Agyapong. They should rather take the evidences he has against Anas's activities, and carefully study and analyze them, to give them the right perspective. Murtaka is not an honest man.
