A group calling itself ‘NPP Youth for Integrity’ has called on President Nana Akufo-Addo to establish Commissions of Inquiry to investigate a number of violent incidents recorded in parts of the country.
The group said the electoral violence that took place in Asunafo, Asutifi, Talensi, Chereponi and other places in recent past, ought to be investigated like the recent Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence.
On the back of criticisms and condemnation of the Ayawaso incident allegedly caused by some hoodlums under the guise of national security operatives, government was forced to set up a three –member Commission of Inquiry to probe the matter.
While commending the President for that move, the NPP Youth for Intergrity in a statement said it is important that equal attention is given to all other issues of violence in the country.
“We like to commend the government for its positive response to the impasse at Ayawaso West Wuogon during the by-election, we wish to add our voices to condemn all actors involved in the matter.
“Without any form of equalization, we however believe that what is good for the goose is as much good for the gander,” the group stated.
It thus called for the government to put measures in place to ensure that other issues of violence and disruption across the country are equally dealt with.
“Inasmuch as we applaud and welcome the move to enquire into what brought about the unnecessary confusion and disturbances that marred the beauty of Ayawaso West Wuogon by elections, we believe the state can’t keep a close eye to the worst scenarios that greeted the Asutifi, Asunafo, Talensi, Atiwa, Chereponi, Asawase, Agbogbloshie, Akwatia, and many other places where several number of innocent people suffered similar or even worst attacks for no wrong doings,” it stated.
The group noted that some people have lost their lives while others became permanently disabled as a result of the these violent incidence.
Consequently, it said it is high time a Commission of Enquiry was set up for the crime at the stated areas.
It underscored the need for government to deal with all issues of electoral violence without being selective, in order to instil confidence in the electioneering process and ensure the safety of electorates.
“We demand justice for all victims of electioneering process. The perpetrators of such crime must equally face the law. Crime has no expiry date,” the group emphasized.

My friend are you an unemployed graduate who doesn't know what to do with your time, that you come to this platform to write thesis. Do you think someone has time to read your ***barred word***. Go find some job and stop this nun sense.
POLITICAL ELECTORAL VIOLENCE IN GHANA True, some people are entrenched regarding their political affiliation in Ghana and their party can do no wrong. But try to read my statement wholly before you prejudge, tag me with any political ideology or colour me with any political party flag. After reading my piece fully, you might know my true party colours, ideological leanings and where I stand as a Ghanaian so far as electoral violence is concern. Like many Ghanaians, I’m for peace and violent free elections at all time for Mother Ghana. Enough bloody electoral violence in Ghana is enough and it MUST stop. Nobody has monopoly over violence. NDC and NPP should take note and heed to the cry and advice of reasonable open mind Ghanaians with different political and ideological leanings. Too bad, NDC was at the receiving end of a bitter medicine prescribed by NPP. In the past, it had been NDC administering bad medicine to NPP when they were in power. It’s not good for the democracy of Ghana, but it’s what it’s. It might be a blessing in disguise for both parties to experience a taste of violence. My heart goes out to the poor innocent gullible boys from the North, Zongo and Muslim communities who are used as pawns at the expense of their welfare by both political parties in this political electoral violence games in Ghana. Sometimes, a taste of your own medicine is all it takes to understand your recipient at the other side to compel you to make peace. Ghana had witnessed far too many bloody political electoral violence in the past. It happened in Amenfi West, Akwatia, Atiwa, Kumawu, Bawku, Tamale Central, Cheriponi, Talensi, Odododiodio, Agbogbloshie, Asutifi South and Asunafo North when NDC were in power. Those bloody political violence happened under the watchful eyes of the so call Asomdweehene, Attah Mills and his vice, Mahamah. Who were the victims of those electoral violence during Mills presidency? Most of them at the receiving end were NPP leaders, members, supporters and sympathizers. Now Ayawaso West Wuogon(AWW) under NPP watch is in the news for electoral violence as well. This time, the victims of the violence are NDC leaders, members and supporters brutalized by NPP hooligans said to be disguised as National Security Agents under the watchful eyes of the so call Man of Peace, Nana Akuffo Addo and his vice, Dr. Bawumia. I’m not trying to play a political equalization game, but we can formulate future elections devoid of violence, if we learn from our past and present mistakes. My question is what is next? Are we waiting for the next electoral Bye-Election to witness another bloody electoral violence by doing nothing? It’s not good for Ghana as a country regardless of who are the victims or perpetrators. NDC supporters were brutalized in AWW violent bye-election allegedly by the Delta and Invincible Forces elements within our own National Security Agency. People were shot, and blood flowing all over the place. But, can we say AWW is the first bye-electoral violent incidence in Ghana? Why should we allow electoral violence to repeat itself? We need to demand answers from the ruling government for an official response and get to the bottom of the whole violence. Though, the past regimes had free passes and not held accountable for those bloody electoral violence under their watch, but it’s right to hold the current regime accountable for answers and solution of what happened in AWW bloody Bye-Election violence and find legal ways to solve electoral violence for good; a new order to curtail electoral violence is needed. Now, both sides are victims of political violence, hopefully, they would sit down and find lasting amicable solution to this never ending political electoral bloody violence. Demonstrations are just hopeless gimmicks to assure aggrieved members, supporters and sympathizers of a party that something is being done, but they’re not answers to these problems. Finding legal ways and means to abolish and outlaw these violent political vigilantes disguised as party operatives to curtail political electoral violence in Ghana would be in the right direction. As usual, political innocent sycophants from the North, Zongo and Muslims communities are used by greedy politicians from both parties for these bloody operations even after the violence in ***barred word*** demonstrations. It's bad when NDC members are violated. It's equally bad when NPP members are brutalized. No Ghanaian should get hurt because of an election, period. Nobody has monopoly over violence because political power is not forever. Let's choose peace over violence and stop supporting political hypocrites from both NDC and NPP period. "ANANSE YEE ME, ME NSO ME YEE NO" bloody electoral political violence circle games being played by both NDC and NPP to whip up their sycophant tribal minded supporters into political ecstasy would not help Ghana. Let's get rid of terror groups like the Azorka Boys, The Bolga Bull Dogs, Kandahar Boys, The Eagles, The Lions, Delta Force, The Invincible Forces and other party hooligans disguised as party guardians to free Ghana from electoral political violence. The most dangerous part of this bad development is the absorption of criminal elements use as political enforcers into our Military and Police Forces when NPP and NDC are in power through backdoor protocol recruitment with little or no background checkup whatsoever. The worse scenario is the conversion of these political criminal hooligans as National Security Agents; most of them do not have the necessary qualifications to be absorbed into the Police and the Military Forces. They will do anything they’re told to do because, their positions are guaranteed so long as their party is in power. In our winner take all political environment, this agency is completely dissolved when there is a change of administration to enable the winner to staff this very “important” agency with criminal political hooligans from the winning party to do their dirty work. These criminal hooligans used by both NPP and NDC in the agency are always looking for the least opportunity to settle old scores. Perhaps, NPP hooligans in the National Security Agency were looking for revenge at AWW bye-election. The Invincible and Delta Forces elements absolved into Ghana National Security Agency, I’m told, under a slight provocation went after the Azorka Boys who were housed near the NDC AWW parliamentary candidate’s house to settle an old score from the beatings they took from the Azorka Boys during the Talensi bloody Bye-Election some few years back when Mahamah was the president. They are alleging the Azorka Boy opened fire first, but the other side is also saying, they were just minding their own business getting ready to be deployed to polling centers to guard ballot boxes. The name Azorka Boys is an embodiment of political electoral violence in Ghana; the name alone provokes revenge and retaliation so why bring them from Tamale to Accra to guard boxes of this meaningless AWW bye-election? What was their true mission in Accra? This assignment could had been easily handled by the local NDC operatives instead of busing Azorka Boys notorious for election violence and ballot box snatchings to Accra. In any case, National security Agency operatives SHOULD never be used as pawns to do the dirty work for any party regardless. We need peace but not violence. Members, supporters and sympathizers of both parties need to stop the POLITICAL SELECTIVE MEMORY SYNDROME GAMES because both NDC and NPP are using political violence to their advantage at the expense of Ghana as a whole. We may be NPP or NDC members, supporters and sympathizers but we must think and shouldn’t support these two violent political parties blindly because we’re also Ghanaians. We have only one Ghana. I’m an NPP sympathizer but I WILL never blindly support any bad action by the party, their supporters or any member. It’s about time violators and perpetrators of political electoral violence are treated as criminals and taken to court to face the law of the land regardless of party affiliation. An IGP without a political hat is needed to deal with this political electoral violence. How many perpetrators of a ruling party regarding electoral violence arrested by the police had ever been sent to court to be prosecuted for their crimes? ORDER FROM THE ABOVE is the order of the day anytime perpetrators of a political electoral crimes from a ruling party are arrested by the police? What happened to the Cheriponi bye-election shooter? Nothing so far; so, what make you think anything will happened to these AWW criminal shooters even when they’re picked up by the police? Just an ORDER FROM THE ABOVE call will set them free within a minute. The IGP can ignore this ORDER FROM THE ABOVE nonsenses from our crooked politicians only when the position is protected from PROCEED ON LEAVE ORDER from the president. The IGP need a protection like that of the Chief Justice(CJ). A president can’t wake up and just send a PROCCED ON LEAVE message to the CJ. It takes a constitution process to remove the CJ from office. Why can’t we extent a similar constitutional protection to cover the IGP position to shield the occupant from the whims of the president to enable the IGP to discharge his or her duty without fear of being fired by the president at will? Also, the National Security Agency SHOULD be under the Police Force. Their leadership and member SHOULD come from the police and and should be accountable to the IGP to bring sanity and accountability to the agency. It’s not right for the government to fund an agency who is only loyal to a private political party. This is my take on how to curb political electoral violence in Ghana. God bless Ghana. i wish @ NDC LIARS, you will ask the prsidentas to why an akyem, MP, NPP member, Ghanaian and business man JB Dankwah was murdered, suspects found but incompetent AG can prosecute. I wish you will ask the president to tell ghanaians who shew small at atiwa that brought his all d.ie be d.ie. I wish you will advise the president that, if a minister of state says he instructed national security to do n.onsense at ayawaso, there is no need for the formation of commission but direct arrest of u.seless IGP and that minister. look,if we always wanna compare ourselves to d.warfs, we will always be tall. is time we think of Ghana and not party.
"Crime has no expiry date". I support you 1000%. NDC can not foment trouble, kill innocent people and turn around to cry the loudest! They are EVIL! Their Mahama has just confirmed it! What they did to the genuine business men/women and innocent Ghananian in 1979 and 1981, only God knows. NEVER allow NDC to rule Ghana AGAIN!
