New Patriotic Party(NPP) Member of Parliament [MP] for Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency, George Mireku Duker says former President John Dramani Mahama needs a counselor to help him get his 'thinking cap' back on.
He said the former President for some time now has never been on top of issues, neither has he spoken on point concerning any issue he talks about.
According to George Mireku Duker, the most surprising aspect of the leaked tape to him is why the newly elected flagbearer of the NDC, who has been President before is trying to justify those unpleasing words in the leaked tape.
“Frankly, I believe former President John Dramani Mahama needs a counselor to get him back on top of issues per his position,” he said.
Speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ newspaper discussion programme, the Tarkwa-Nsuaem MP pointed out that he simply cannot understand why members of the NDC are claiming the leaked tape is ‘doctored’, as they have not produced any different one to depict the difference they claim.
“What do members of the NDC mean by doctored tape when the words and voice of the audio has not been denied, neither have they produced the actual tape?” he asked.
Former President John Mahama has explained that the Chairman of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo did not say the Chairman of the National Peace Council, Prof Emmanuel Asante, should be beaten up by the NDC but rather that he should be "criticised" for, according to the newly-elected flag bearer of the party, not condemning the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence before demanding an apology from him (Mr Mahama) over his 'match the NPP boot-for-boot' comment after the violence.
Mr Mahama said the party had a problem with the Chairman of the National Peace Council for not condemning the violence first before turning his guns on him over his 'boot-for-boot' comment.
On 1 February 2019, Prof Asante called on former President Mahama to apologise to the nation for saying the opposition party will match the governing New Patriotic Party boot-for-boot with violence in the 2020 polls.
