Former National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams says government's posture on Anas’ recent exposé on Galamsey is questionable.
According to him, the NPP government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has defied all odds to fight against illegal mining, yet refusing to embrace an exposé by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
In another explosive documentary, investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas reveals that government officials are circumventing measures to curb illegal mining popularly known as Galamsey.
The undercover work showed government officials receiving various sums of monies to facilitate the process and provide security protection for a mining company.
When the war on galamsey was declared, government decided to give a clear picture of the scope and duration of the intervention.
It, therefore, set up the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM) to implement the two-year road map.
While the Committee has received plaudits for a good job done so far, some complaints have also been heard about underhand dealings involving officials in charge at the IMCIM who allegedly take bribes to allow people circumvent the rules of the roadmap.
The secret filming captured Secretary to the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM), Mr. Charles Cromwell Bissiw, taking cash amounting to GH¢35,000 in three meetings through one Andy Owusu, a connection man, to circumvent the process to renew the mining license for ORR Resources Enterprise.
But government has asked Anas to provide the presidency with the raw footage of the video before a final decision will be made.
But reacting to the issue on Adom TV’s morning show, Kofi Adams wondered why the government is requesting for a raw footage when clear evidence has been put before them.
“Why is he refusing to accept Anas' exposé?” he questioned.

And what's wrong with the government's decision to see the truth for itself? Are you not happy that Ghanaians are waking up? Besides, why is Anas taking so long to submit the raw footages if he has nothing to hide?
Government has asked Anas to submit the raw unedited footage. Is that not okay to you? That's the way to go. We are dealing with reputation and overall future of human beings. It's not legal, ethical and civilized to act on an edited footage. Why must government do that? Let's be guided by wisdom and fair-play. Don't be in hurry to condemn people to score political advantage. That era belongs to the uncivilized world.
Instead of us to understand why we are not winning the fight against galamsey menace because of attitudes within the peoples who have been given the mandate to stop it, we here making noise about NDC and NPP. Anas is just helping government to know all the weak points in the galamsey fight and strengthened it.
WHY DID ANAS EVIL, DEMONIC NEVER SHOW THE PARLIAMENT UNDER COVER EXPOSE.EVIL NDC WILL NEVER RULE GHANA AGAIN. GOD FORBID.
TELL ANAS TO BRING THE RAW, UNEDITED, UNDOCTORED FOOTAGE FIRST. You CANNOT take Ghanaians for ride any more.
"bring the unedited tape first." Now Anas is dealing with a seasoned Lawyer.
Kwas*ea what right do you have to add why the government is asking for the video?did Anas show what he did during the ndc era to the Ghanaian people? Was Anas in Ghana when Ghanaians were calling sika dee basabasa by the ndc? was Anas in Ghana when students were made deputy ministers and were building filling stations?was Anas in Ghana when double salary was going on so what has changed? their credibility is at question now so nobody is going to rush on Anas expose! Anas is fake and working for the ndc if not why would Kofi Kotokoli Adamu ask that st*ipid question? whatever Anas and Mannase Azure Awuni have lost their credibility! anyone who works for the ndc is viewed as an enemy of Ghana and a nation wrecker and your credibility is put in question mark and nobody take you serious!
